Rangers were better for it by being less easy to create chances against but had little threat themselves with zero shots on target. It will be interesting to see if he now reverts back to Russball which is often the case because he'll still expect his way to roll over most teams in the SPL other than Celtic so this might be a one off.
tdmickey3 Posted August 31 Posted August 31 How can the man of principled principles give up on them so obviously….. perhaps he’s a bullshitter However it was still shit game

There's never a football match without some sort of tactics being used. What I meant was that every time he abandons "russball" his teams seem to get a result. So why got back to using the tactics that don't seem to work?

sockeye Posted August 31 Posted August 31 The principles are more like a brand to market himself with. He can recognise the games where he is required to perform seriously and abandons them accordingly. So he's not totally stupid. Personally I think he's just a mediocre manager but by leveraging his brand and character he can get jobs way above his station. I reckon he thinks that too. 2

Couldn’t give a shit about Rangers, just like Southampton, Swansea and MK Dons before them. 3
Saint86 Posted September 4 Posted September 4 (edited) Quite something to have the rangers sporting director come out and speak on behalf of the manager over what Martin will be doing to get Raskin back on side 😬 Edited September 4 by Saint86

coalman Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) The Rangers forum have been reduced to taking solace from their team's possession stats. Poor fuckers. 1-0 to Hearts. Rangers yet to have a shot. Edited 22 hours ago by coalman 1

coalman Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Martin, who said he was "too sweaty to wear a suit" is wearing a jumper and a great thick coat... That's not going to go down well with the locals.
bangkoksaint Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Ouch………..however Rangers have had 50% more passes so not all bad! 1
sfc4prem Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Over 140 passes by the 30th minute. Top quality. Surely their fans are trusting the process with that tangible evidence of brilliance? 1

coalman Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) Rangers have their first shot on 28 minutes. Here it comes. The Hearts goal did look like it involved a handball by the attacker too so at least the post match press conference is writing itself. Edited 22 hours ago by coalman

I can understand the Hearts manager, not so well paid by EPL standards, having to supplement his relatively meagre wage by taking on a look for a walk on part as a Highlands or Islands crofter in 'Shetland' or such like, but RM ? Fucking hipster twat. 1 1

coalman Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago The fans are now singing "there's only one Russell Martin". Admittedly it's the Hearts fans but it's good to hear he has some support in the ground. 6

AlexLaw76 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Rangers just slowly knocking it about in their own half...side to side via the keeper. Rangers fans going mental

Midfield_General Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago A full pre-season A two-horse league A bigger budget than every other team in it bar one 14 new players brought in And they are still absolute dogshit 🤣 Yet to win a domestic game after four matches and losing at home in the fifth. As it stands, they are ninth in said two-horse race, and if Aberdeen can score then they could drop into the relegation places. It's extraordinary. Who or what can he blame this time? 2
