The police and the RNLI are not traitors, they were doing their jobs, making sure the people on the boat were not allowed to land without being taken straight into detention.

Why didn't we just send them back? Because the UK voted to leave Europe and lose that option, we chose this plan.

So here we are, criminal thugs smashing vehicles and injuring police, running hate campaigns against coastguard volunteers, things that have really happened, facts that cannot be debated, criminal activity, not peaceful protest, and if you try to justify that, you are part of the problem.

One major differentiation between Operation Iraqi Freedom and the boats crossing the Channel is that currently in the UK it is the people doing the "defending" that are smashing things up.

Are you saying the RNLI 'invited' the immigrants into the country?  What did they do, send them some wedding invitations?

They were doing their job (albeit on a voluntary basis), protecting the lives of people at sea.  That is what we want them to do isn't it, or should they ask for CVs, passports and references before making sure anyone is OK?

They were certainly escorted by the french until they reached our waters, but I'm not sure where they were left,  and where the RNLI picked them up. I agree that this wasn't a stray boat situation - the IOW or central south coast was the destination.

The French policy around not intercepting when they’re in the water might need adaption I agree.

The fact - which I know you agreed with - is that they had to travel from that far out because the French overall are squeezing them everywhere else. Good. Ditto the Belgians and Dutch. Germans just banged up some smugglers too.

As I said, there will be a sinking and a lot deaths soon and that is on the smugglers.

My grandfathers who served in Dunkirk, El Alamein, Montecasino, Burma actually saw what Ossie describes and would never have trivialised events like that. But that’s because they were actually there, at risk, one of them was an army medic actually saving people. Not drinking far right misinformation by a Hayling Island skate on X or Telegram.

The medals are proudly on my father’s living room wall. That’s patriotism. Patriotism is not Portsmouth or Luton football hooligans smashing up the public’s cars, wearing balaclavas and breaking into dockyards.
