Of course. Because they're full of shit.

If they really believed in giving the manager full seasons and full years they'd be saying it now.

Doubt they’d come to our basket case of a club, but I’d definitely bite your hand off for Allardyce or Warnock.

Someone that genuinely knows football and what it takes to get a club moving in the right direction.

We are that bad that those guys that people used to turn their noses up at are a huge upgrade for us.

We sign Fellows an Azaz who for past two seasons have scored and assisted for fun in this league. Yet we mange to find a way to not play to their strengths. 0 goals and 0 assists

I've been saying this too. Meanwhile, Diaz is scoring at Derby andnBree and Smallbone are winning MOTM awards.

Any of our players would walk into any other squad in this league. It all points towards the manager being clueless.

Who was worse?

You need to add Stuart Gray to this list.

Bit unfair on Mark Wotte because at least he won 3 games in a row, before the club went in to admin which killed our momentum.

It just doesn't happen any more, rightly or wrongly. Too much at stake I guess.

Frank's Spurs just been booed off HT and FT after losing against Chelsea despite being third in the table. 17th last season ffs.

It really is odd how its all turned out. I think the job was just to big for him at such an inexperienced time of his career.

That’s a good chant if he’s still in charge at QPR (doubt it going by the post match interview) - 🎵 Your job’s too big for you 🎵

The new manager will not only have the scar tissue from Russell Martin to deal with, but now there's a whole new set of scars left by Stills spell.

Still, at least they've got an east excuse when it all doesn't work out.

I hope we can do better in front of goal than Will's soon to be previous team.

We should have seen it coming

Nope, thought it was a ridiculous appointment at the time and I wasn’t alone.

I thought it was a massive gamble but was prepared to let him prove me wrong. After a month I was thinking, this isn't going to work. I wanted him gone at the same time Selles went from SU. At least their board had the balls to sack the manager when it clearly wasn't working. Our lot will probably leave Still in place until after the next transfer window and allow him to bring in more shite like Downs.

This isn't going to work. He has to go as soon as possible.

We are so bad at appointing managers. The fact that Will Still makes Russell Martin look like a genius says a lot.

Fuck off the lot of you. Pathetic from top to bottom.

My preferred choice was Steve Cooper, if you read the first few pages of this thread the reactions were mainly very positive. It’s really hard to understand how someone with such a reputation has been so completely terrible

Someone of Steve Cooper's ilk is exactly what we needed, and need.

Re the fans position. I don't know one saints fan in the real world who posts on this forum, and I don't think you can ever took the concencus of the active posters on here as the concencus of saints fans.

That said, Still seemed to have something about him and although he wouldn't have been my pick, his track record suggested much better than we've seen.

The club might as well put a poll up on the website and let the fans pick the team. Save us all the hassle of firing the next clown they appoint

Knowing our luck we'll end up with Marti from Leicester, Manning from Norwich or VP from Wolves.

This lot will probably go ultra radical and be interviewing Marti Pellow, Peyton Manning and Vladimir Putin.

I remember listening to the 2nd Tier Podcast before the season started, where they ranked the managers.

Funny old thing, of the 2 presenters, 1 of them rated him at a top 3 manager, the other a bottom 6.

Gambles that fail

yet our best managers of recent years have been

Hoddle

Adkins

Pochetino

Koeman

what do they all have in common? Top players and/or experienced managers who knew the league. Pochetino was a gamble admittedly but he did have a bit of an aura about him and had been an Argentina international player. koeman and Hoddle were both and Adkins knew the lower leagues inside out. So why do we keep up with these trying to be clever shit?

Was thinking earlier when did this arrogance that oozes out of the club begin? This belief that we fucking invented everything in the game? Throughout the 90's we were generally regarded as shit, and we all accepted it as a club and Tiss always got us out the shit. But we never had this belief that we knew better then everyone.

Feel like it started with Cortese and his little lapdog Sibley (is that prick still at the club?) and has only got worse since.

One half of the 2nd Tier podcast duo was not convinced at all by Still in the summer.

It was not the half that posted a nice puff-piece video about him over the last week

The first few pages of this thread are all positive. I include myself in that. he came here with a reputation and was regarded as one of the best young coaches in Europe. Yet you watch games and think this can’t be it, but it seems like it is. The only thing I can think of that explain how terrible he’s been is he is being told he has to play a certain way because it just doesn’t make any sense how bad it is given the players we’ve got and the reputation he has.

I was the same.

I don't think he suits managing a side who are expected to have more of the ball. His in game management has been very questionable and doesn't seem like the leader we really need.

I do feel for him a bit. He was let down in the window in terms of no striker coming in but either way we should have more points than this.

Of course the fans will change their minds, IF results change. Sadly the players don't give a fuck what happens to the club or him so that's unlikely to happen, but do you really think the fan base would still want him gone if we turned round and got 8 wins in 10 games or something?

They may well do but it wouldn’t build up credit. A couple of dodgy results and we’d be back to where we are now, booing the team off the pitch.
I don’t know what the answer is but I don’t think it’s Will Still. He wants to play a 4231, they buy him the wingers for that and he leaves Fellows on the bench in order to play 5 at the back. And not a good five, a shitty five that can’t stop making mistakes and making goals. Sick of being so sick of it!

Second Tier Podcast is the perfect description for it too.

They’ve had the biggest wankfest over Southampton since the start of the season, they’ve posted about the club a couple of times a day for the past couple of months. It’s borderline obsessive for a podcast that covers supposedly twenty-four teams.

To be fair we are like a car crash in slow motion, no doubt people are going to be gawping and gossiping about it.

For every other team in the league, it must be fucking hilarious to watch. I'd find it funny too.

Imagine how fans of Cov, Boro, Stoke, Millwall etc feel this year, all four of the 'big boys' have fallen flat on their faces and they're flying, they must be rubbing their hands with glee.

Particularly Boro after we signed their best player and Stoke who is the default suggestion as to who we are going to become if we don’t go up this year. I’d take that right now

That Daily Echo article is such a non-article.

He’s under pressure. He knows he’s under pressure. There’s nothing more in it.

It doesn’t say “he’s done” or words to that effect or anything that we hope to see.

Bizarre. It initially gave me employed people even though I asked for people not currently in work - Dyche, Wilder, Mourinho, Nuno, and even Mancini. Crazier than a Still team selection.

I'd take O'Neill or Carrick right now.
