ozzmeister Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Molyneax is a natural left back and much more affordable. Skacel is better quality wise but for the sake of the finances I would let him go.
NickG Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 (edited) ability - Skacel if he shows the commitment in some of games this season -Skacel if he is not bothered -Molyneux Was very disappointed in my first view of Molyneux in last home game but happy to see how he does, certainly showed some potential and wants to do the job for us Edited 30 January, 2009 by NickG
skintsaint Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 rather have the geezer who i imagine is trying to get his career started than a player who is just looking for another pay packet as his career is starting to wind down.

SaintDonkey Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Skacel's the better player but his attitude has always been questionable. Throw in the financial situation and he becomes a liability we can't afford. So reluctantly Molyneaux

Mr X Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 I would prefer a fit and motivated Rudi of course, he has more natural skill, however he hasn't used it here, and his heart was never at saints from the beggining
ottery st mary Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 I wonder how bad he is going to have to play before Mills gets another chance? Just out of interest who would play right back if James got injured? Seen Mills play about five times and rate highly. I have not seen Moly play so I wouls accept your comparison. Seems they are at an equal stage/age..Never understood the need to bring in with finances etc. Wait to be told otherwise. Always thought Hatch would have broken through but he got injured and was ill at wrong times. On his way back now? James definitely mid-field player when I have seen him play...Not sure about RB but then again he has had plenty of games. You could play Hatch with James in front with both working for each other down the right..tighter at defending with both good ability to go forwards. Wotte, I am available for your coaching team. INFLUENCED.COM Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Skacel has to rate as one of the most over hyped Saints players of recent times, rarely saw commitment from him or ability in line with his purchase price Not too impressed by Molyneaux's first show but have no option but to wait and see

Chez Posted 30 January, 2009 Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Just to be awkward I want to see Joseph Mills given a proper chance on the left side . likewise. He looked a far better prospect than James yet it was James that got that extra time needed to improve. Skacel did pretty well when he came in but only his heading appeared to be better than what Mills served up. IMO what MIlls needs is games and lots of them. If he had got the game James has had I would suggest he would be flying by now.

(I also have 'Murder in Coweta County' on DVD - how sad is that :smt100 ) . I could move on to my deep love of Hank Williams and his works but I fear I might bore the arse off the rest of the forum and ruin any little credibility I may retain . Dragging the subject away from the man in black and back to the more mundane issue of Southampton Football Club young Mills really is a star in the making and quite possibly the best of the youngsters we've seen this season , it surprises me more people haven't noticed . Andy_Porter Posted 31 January, 2009 Share Posted 31 January, 2009 I'd like to see Mills given more of a chance, if he's not in our plans for this season he could really do with a loan somewhere in league one for the rest of the season.

Andy_Porter Posted 31 January, 2009 Share Posted 31 January, 2009 We should have signed Phil Ifil when we had the chance then that wouldn`t even be a question. He only went for 250k in the end, shocking that we let him go really. Especially considering it was with Spurs, it would have probably been easy just to write of a chunk of the Bale debt and get Ifill instead. ExSt Peter Saint Posted 31 January, 2009 Share Posted 31 January, 2009 Someone else. Rudi's been messed around so much that I don't blame him for wanting out and anyway LB is not his prefered position. Moly seems a liability. Mills or bring someone in with a bit more experience once Rudi's wages are off the books.
