sockeye Posted Tuesday at 20:42 Posted Tuesday at 20:42 Good goal today. I want to see him used more and definitely not sent out on loan. 7
Monk Posted Tuesday at 20:50 Posted Tuesday at 20:50 For those old enough, Red Dwarf and the 'backwards' episode is all I could think of every time I heard Mat-ski. 1
S-Clarke Posted Tuesday at 20:51 Posted Tuesday at 20:51 Matski and Matsuki are quality. Who knew we had them both in our squad, maybe we don't need attacking additions afterall. In all seriousness he's someone I've liked the look of during pre-season, he's agile and can nip in and around in space. I wouldn't say he's a traditional CM, can probably play that 10. 4
gio1saints Posted Tuesday at 20:52 Posted Tuesday at 20:52 He took his chance.✅ I love it when a player gets a chance and takes it by scoring a fantastic goal immediately. Nothing says “pick me” and “ how’s this for impact” like taking the ball on the turn running ten yards and smashing it into the net. WP son. 🙌

Colinjb Posted Tuesday at 21:16 Posted Tuesday at 21:16 Matski can strike a ball cleanly. That's an unusual characteristic for a Saints player.
saintant Posted Tuesday at 21:22 Posted Tuesday at 21:22 He's clearly a bit raw but I think he has a football brain the way he takes up positions between the lines and comes short to receive the ball. Might be one the coaches can polish. Like the fact that he is eager to get forward and was always very positive in possession tonight. It was great to see him drive forward and then not be afraid to back himself and unleash the shot for his goal tonight. Much to be encouraged about. 4
skintsaint Posted Tuesday at 21:28 Posted Tuesday at 21:28 Looked decent tonight, but that was only Norwich reserves. Think he can hold his own if given the chance and the midfield is strengthened (and the 5 at the back dropped).
Nolan Posted Tuesday at 21:31 Posted Tuesday at 21:31 I fancy seeing Still challenge him to play into the Japan squad while at Saints to be fair. 2

Amusing really when most of the Japanese team appear to play in leagues you would say are weaker than the Championship.
maysie Posted Tuesday at 22:04 Posted Tuesday at 22:04 Going from the post match interview on Solent with Still there is still a language barrier, which is why they are giving him cameos at the moment as he gets up to speed. He takes it on the half turn which a lot of our players don’t, so I’m hopeful. 1
HarvSFC Posted Tuesday at 22:12 Posted Tuesday at 22:12 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan_national_football_team#Recent_call-ups Somebody let the Japan manager know he called up Tanaka when he was with Leeds last season. There's also some Blackburn and Bristol City players in there. Plus, are they now going to drop Kyogo as he's playing for Birmingham? 2

And his deft half-turn was something Flynn Downes could take note of. Matsuki’s cameo, the emergence of Shea Charles and the Archer showing were the highlights of last night. Fraser’s continued good form and an improved showing from Edwards were reasons to be cheerful too. Much maligned Macca did alright. To cap off a good night there were definitely signs of a well organised high up the field press. 2

Get Still to challenge him to play in a way that shines a spotlight on himself, makes him self stand out with worldies and makes the manager look like a dick if he doesn't pick him. Also makes the manager look like a dick for making Suguwara move. 1
Toadhall Saint Posted Wednesday at 05:13 Posted Wednesday at 05:13 Aside from the fantastic strike he looked very lively and was constantly looking for space and wanted the ball from the moment he came on. So for me it’s a keep him here and don’t loan out. 5

Saint Fan CaM Posted Wednesday at 08:23 Posted Wednesday at 08:23 Played well by all accounts. Think he deserves at least a consistent place on the bench, if not shoehorning into the starting 11. 1

Thought Wood did ok as well and Taylor when he came on. 1

To see how not to do it, Downes last Saturday in the centre of the pitch, Matsuki did on the right side to easier to defend if lost.

SNSUN Posted yesterday at 12:47 Posted yesterday at 12:47 With Fellows, Azaz and Janker coming in to strengthen midfield I hope we keep hold of Kuryu. I think he'd be good cover for injuries/suspensions and a bit of an X Factor when needed off the bench. 3
