The first 30 - 35 minutes were boring mate, shots on target mean shit if one or two don’t go in and the goalkeeper has dealt with them easily but you crack on 😂

Do you drink Monster?

I left home for work after the Archer chance on around 20 minutes, sounds like we did better after that. Bench is strong, we can still get the 3 points here. UTS

Maybe you need a new hobby, I don't think you actually like football if you only enjoy it in the moment a goal is scored.

That is no fault of

Still

The Formation

The Style of Play

It is down to the rub of the green and the composure of the players with the shots

First 20-25 mins was crap, many of our shots were from around the edge of the area with a packed defence. Not sure we even tested the keeper. That was largely down to our overloads being won on our defensive 3rd

as the half went on, we started to win the ball back, by a tackle or their sloppy play, inside their half, which is immediately seeing overloads further up the pitch, thus we started getting their defenders facing their own goal more (Leo?)

remember, we are playing a pretty crap side here, and do not believe a single member of their team would make our matchday squad.

Very encouraging, took a while to get going but Jelert and Scienza are creating a lot on both flanks and defensively we look watertight.

should be 2-0 up. The concern is if Swansea change tactics, if not it’ll come.

Football is not a hobby unless you play it… HTH

I used to like football before the last 50 games or so since Wembley

Fuck me we absolutely have to win this game, unforgivable if we don’t. Swansea are every bit as bad as I imagined.

Damn what does that make us,  they are above us in the table :classic_biggrin:

Unforgivable but who is to blame?  Seems like Still has set them up very well and we should be way ahead. Is that his fault?

honestly the amount of balls in the box is excellent, the conversion not so much.

Assume Downs comes on for Archer as the first change.

Welly and Leo running the show down the left.

Jellert and Jander and charles playing well

Surely we’ve seen enough of Downs to know there’s absolutely zero point getting him on the pitch unless we’re cruising and the game is won

Good point. The formation and way we are playing has created numerous chances.

Type of chances

Well we've created headed chances, left foot chances, right foot chances, on the 12 yard line, on the edge of the box, inside the box left and right...

Plenty of the chances in the first 30 mins were from range and/or against a packed defence, hence why the keeper was barely, it at all, tested.

let’s see if the last 15 mins or so was our usual purple patch or we go on.

I honestly think if you're found guilty of that stupid a dive then you have to stand there while the biggest bastard in the other team gets to twat you as hard as they can

Fair point but sadly we don't have anyone who can then do the only bit that matters.

Deep crosses to our absent centre forward really aren’t going to work. Got to fizz it in low surely when we get high and wide

See, now (helped by our shape) they are stepping up a lot more, creating bigger gaps between our attack and the rest (hence the long passes again).

ie, the shape has, as per, surrendered midfield

Sky commentator: Southampton have Damion Downs on the bench, he’s certainly a tall person they could do with.

Jaws was a tall person in James Bond, doesn’t mean he’s got any footballing ability.

Is like to see Jaws - from Jaws - up front.

Yet, less prone to ball watching than our absent captain.

Fellows and Robinson coming

Because taking off the winger causing all sorts of problems is how you do your sixty minute sub-fest right.
