I wouldn't say it's just based on a single game, it's just that the future is pretty clear in my eyes with SR at the helm. Nothing changes, bad decisions continue and we'll end up sinking out of this league. That's our current trajectory unless something rather big changes.

Just that SR are doubling down with Ben Garner, yet more analysts arriving, the formation and style of play is intransigent (as well as glacial). I’d say Rasmus has got unchallenged control of the SR asylum and Spors is helping rather than challenging him. In a way, if the rate of decline accelerates towards and over the cliff edge towards League 1, at least the rebuilding post-SR can happen quicker too as Dragan sells at a knock down rate and jumps out of the cab Rasmus has been steering.

FWIW, I have given up with the " powers that be " along with many others no doubt.

Much as I would want my club to prosper, rapid decline seems the only way to rid ourselves of these useless twats.

Although 6 points above the drop zone and rock bottom of the form table….

A couple of experienced loans through the spine who can organise, one of them as captain, would at least ensure survival. Their idea of change is to sack Tonda after Fratton mauling and scour the local garden centres and sixth form colleges for an acne-stricken adolescent to hire as manager. The zits and oozing pus would at least put Blackmore off the scent of SR’s bungling during post-match interviews.

Essential Criteria - must love XG and possession data and always obey Rasmus Ankerson.

Only if one of them is an experienced assistant manager.

No chance - huge wages and his agent has already poo pooed it. Agree that he wouldn’t add a great deal - hasn’t scored a free kick for the Hammers, some good early corners but we never get bodies on the box anyway. The opponents or ours. Just a more deluxe Flynn Downes recycler sideways on administration-inducing wages.

SR have cleverly established a version of the Anfield Boot Room process, whereby our U21 coach is groomed to take over the first team. It's a rapid-fire version - they get the u21 gig with assurances that they'll be in charge of first team by the next quarter. Lallana will get the first team for Feb-April, and then Andrew Surman will have completed his apprenticeship in the U21s and gets the last month (with a two month pay-off for Jun-Jul whilst they recruit someone with no experience of League One but with a very accommodating yes-man attitude). The fact that they're both club legends will keep the punters happy - much better to have one of our own in charge than to win football matches.

Jay Robinson will be in charge by Feb27.

I would put a laughing emoji as it did make laugh but bar the Jay Robinson sentence the rest of it is far from out of the equation with SR. Rasmus is as mad as a box of frogs. 🐸

Isn’t he not even training with the first team now though? I wouldn’t say no chance  it’s totally the sort of thing we would do and they might be more open to it towards the end of the window if nothing else materialises

We won't.

He'll end up at Burnley or somewhere like that, he'll stay in the PL - just.

He's too expensive for us.

Every coach/manager SR has appointed smacks of someone controlling things and wanting to maintain that control by bringing in those they can easily manipulate. Experienced manager names have been bandied about but perhaps as a smokescreen because they are never appointed and we always end up with a yes man (maybe Juric was the exception) who is weak and will not challenge the status quo. When each one in turn is sacked they obviously sign an ND agreement meaning they are not at liberty to reveal what really goes on at the football club. It is effectively a closed shop with the truth of what occurs behind the scenes never revealed to us fans. We can all guess who is the chump with his hand on the tiller. No idea how we get out of this seemingly endless spiral of doom.

Believe someone might be off to Rennes. Not sure who. Possibly a CB.

Great news if true. Signing a couple of players won't really make a difference but we have to start somewhere. It won't be Stephens or Quarshie so it's THB or Wood.

Can’t see it being THB - he’s our most creative threat 🤣 and cost too much.

Dont think Jelert is one for the future - already played at a much higher level than us. Don't know why he hasn't played more, would say he's one of our better players.

Not sure we are talking about the same player(s) (experience-wise)

Elias Jelert is 22 , played just 66 games for Copenhagen (admittedly Denmark's best club) but was hardly

convincing as he was later sold onto Galatasary (Turkey) where he played 21 games in his first season.

(he has made 3 apps. for Denmark, but  the last being in 2024).

SR then signed him on loan for us last summer.  His first showing was (in game 6) Hull (a) ...12 min. sub. app.

Two games later he started (v. Swansea) but was replaced in second half through injury.

Was then out absent injured for 13 games, returning  as a late sub. v. Birmingham (a) on Dec.29.

Overall... not totally convincing...so far.

James Bree is 28.  Has made 280 apps. includes sizeable spells with Barnsley and Luton, and nearly all at

Championship level.  Played 20 times for Saints when we were (recently) in Premier League, during when

he scored 2 goals in League Cup games, and was often a regular replacement when KWP was injured.

It's no wonder Nathan Jones was quick to loan him, (think he's scored 2 goals for them this season)?

Referring back to my original post ....... I rest my case.

P.S. I might also make a similar case for Charlie Taylor (who has similar background to Bree)

but was another caste-off (by Will Still).

Probable. Rennes reasonably astute at u21 signings so would make sense.

A sneak preview of our imminent everything-must-go summer sale.

Can't see Bree really being fired up to play for us. Was having a good loan spell, playing regularly well thought of (there), out of contract in the Summer. If I were him I'd be a bit miffed at being recalled, not even being guaranteed a start.

Agree but James is a good pro. Deserves a lot better than Saints but his professionalism puts Downes, Downs, Wood, No-Manning-Land, AA and the other tossers to shame.

This could go 2 ways, he could want to play hard to get a new contract or as you say be miffed. Personally I understand why hes cheesed off, the club and fans have hardly embraced him.Personally im all for solid proper championship playerswith a sprinkling of mercurial around the team.

Never seen him let us down. Filled in at LB 2023/2024 and conceded less goals looking more solid until Martin put his favourite (bar Flynn) back in and started leaking again at Brum.

Don't think he's been recalled as such, the loan was only for a six month period. Guess nothing was agreed between the parties after

I work with a Charlton fan who told me he'd been poor recently (as have the whole team), so they signed someone permanently to replace him and happily sent back.

Absolutely top pro. I don’t know what if anything went on with Charlie Taylor but from what I’ve heard and seeing him in the Burnley documentary he was another good professional. Personally I can’t believe we kept Manning over him.

Didn’t fit with the AI algorithm Rasmus and his brother use but not everything can have a re-sell if you want compete let alone succeed in the Champ and PL, any of the EFL and National League really. Semmens was a bonehead about this as well.

If we did somehow pull this off and he chose us over Inter, an 18 year CB is hardly what we need right now. But theres a few million for SR to make when we sell him on in 2/3 years

Just seen that Inter have signed another young croatian CB. Might clear the way for this move.

Not what we need right now, but at least it would be something

I agree Vectis, but he is still our player - and IMO a better choice than anyone else we've used this season.

He DAJFU for us during a sticky period when KWP was out injured that season, and we are unlikely to get any

sort of deal with his contract going out in the summer, when he would likely return to play for Nathan Jones

(if NJ is till in charge by then ?).  Regardless of how we finish this season, he won't be the only one to leave.

With no " outstanding players " outside of the squad, we have an enormous salary bill that must be reduced.

If only there was someone on this list who could definitely tell us for absolute sure whether JWP was leaving West Ham, just like he said he definitely wasn't leaving Saints that time...

A week before he did.

Let's be realistic we're not going to go up this season.

For me it's last chance saloon, Use this window to try and shift the likes of Aribo

Then summer we will need a proper full rebuild, no cutting corners

Experienced manager at whatever level we are at with coaching staff

Sell Stephens, Bellis, Downes, Manning. The apparent toxic circle.

It's time to clear the decks and bring In payers with stronger mentalities.

It is incredible if we dont bring a big forward in, I know Ross is decent if hes fit but it is something we cannot rely on. We all know the window will shut and he will get an injury! I so hope he wont but the odds are against him.

I also thought they might do something to raise thespirits in the fanbase and liven up the dressing room.
