MLG has been one of the biggest cheerleaders of the multi club system often stating there are many benefits. Yet has never actually been able to name any specific ones. Can anyone else?

The only benefit I can find so far is that we can pluck these youngsters from our “sister clubs” academies and they’re far from ready for football, and seemingly when they get here, we get rid of them.

Auckland City are part of Bournemouth's multinational setup. Before they'd kicked a ball Bournemouth had bought the young international keeper Alex Paulsen from the rival Wellington Phoenix, using the lure of a direct pathway to the Premier League (one of the benefits of the multi-club model?) and then loaned him to Auckland, where he won his second straight A-League Goalkeeper of the Year award and helped the club to the A-League Premiership in their first year of existence.

I have to say I am surprised a German top flight club didn't sign in the summer. It was obvious from his Youtube videos that he was a decent player. I recall remarking that I was 'excited by his transfer'. I don't tend to go out on a limb like that. Maybe when every scout watched him he played like he did last night.
