Willo of Whiteley Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Ref likes given a foul for the slightest of contact

It’s well and good saying Saints are a bit leggy but Ipswich have been very good. They’ve let us have it in our half then pressed well when we try to go forward. Their defence has been decent. We’re doing well too. Could easily go either way, I’d say Ipswich have had the better of the chances but either side could unlock something. Think we’re missing a bit of control in centre midfield. I like Charles but he doesn’t quite make the game tick like Downes or even Bragg. 2
SNSUN Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Half time boos? Hope they were from Ipswich fans. I thought we battled ok, just lacked a bit of quality.
JohnS Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Ipswich the better team in the 1st half. Scienza needs to stay on his bloody feet - so frustrating! Hopefully a better 2nd half 2
ChristopheVAFC Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It’s a fairly even match, with our players holding a slight advantage. Our opponents tonight are playing it safe and have set their sights on just one player: Leo Scienza! I think it’s going to be a tight game right to the end, and if there’s a winner, it’ll be by the narrowest of margins... Southampton should have been awarded at least two penalties... The referee isn’t on his game... Come on, reds! 1

Willo of Whiteley Posted 5 hours ago Author Posted 5 hours ago Ref is a bit weak, can see him getting swayed by a dive or a bit of wind blowing a player over 1
obelisk Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Who was it that decided it'd be better if Saints played at home in a swamp? 3 1
Baird of the land Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Useless sky commentary team not even realising what challenge saints were appealing for a penalty for. 1

obelisk Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago This ref is going to give Ipswich a penalty at some time in the 2nd half. 1
benjii Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago We seem to have a deliberate tactic of stretching the pitch and playing quite direct, but I think we're good enough to play round them. We are pressing really aggressively too. It's a slightly different approach to normal. 1

Saint NL Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Nice to see Jander carry on his good form. Larin looks up for it, but the ball isn't coming forward as much as we'd hope. Scienza has a reputation for going down too easily and it's doing him no favours 3

James G Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I don't think it's a bad half. Both teams are tired and we have a good bench that can win the game. And I think QPR could probably beat both us and Ipswich just now 1

Swaythling Saint Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I've only been watching for the last 10 and the refs had a howler already, that last chance if not a pen was a corner. Don't get me started on the sky commentators!

Zorba Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Jander having a good game. Azaz not. Think we might struggle second half. Ipswich have a decent bench.
Big M Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Passing hasn't been great, Jander is absolute class, I don't get Scienza,if he stayed on his feet he'd tear most teams a new one, is so frustrating. Manning isn't looking great tonight and Charles looks off it. I guess we will see. 2

obelisk Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago It'll have to be caution to the wind stuff if this stalemate continues. Stewart alongside Larin and go long ball. 1

Whitey Grandad Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Yeah. When you're not playing well just blame the ref. 1
Whitey Grandad Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Larin is playing walking football. He's left his zip behind in the changing room.
Baird of the land Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago 2 minutes ago, Zorba said: Jander having a good game. Azaz not. Think we might struggle second half. Ipswich have a decent bench. As good as jander has looked in winning the ball, he’s looked a bit lost with it. 1
saintant Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Poor first half. We're losing the midfield and that's down to Charles who is strolling around instead of digging in and helping out - he's leaving Jander to toil away on his own. Need to step up big time in the second half because we haven't got going so far. 1
Toussaint Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago For those who aren’t here, I don’t know if you are getting the sense, but it’s hammer and tong, 100 mile an hour breathless stuff, no time, no space . We are doing ok, neither team on top. Brilliant really, championship at its blood and thunder best. Ipswich are playing like we did against Citeh. No idea how it’s going to end up, 2

Go over if you're hit hard otherwise stay on your feet.
James G Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I don't think the ref situation is a bad thing. Psychologically, he might feel he owes us and it'll pay dividends in some way in the second half
