Jimmy_D Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Hmm. Being treated as the worst offence that’s ever occurred in the Football League then. No doubt we’ll appeal the scale of the punishment.
LegalEagle Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Never saw that coming in a million years. We need to hear the full reasoning for it now.
CylonKing Posted May 19 Posted May 19 What a complete waste of a season! If I was a player, I'd be absolutely fuming. What a sh*tshow. Just as we thought the club was back on track. Hell of a precedent for the future though.
BotleySaint Posted May 19 Posted May 19 The statement said we've admitted to the charges. Can't see why we'd appeal except against the level of punishment. I think we'll just have to accept this one. Now its on the club to explain wtf they are going to do, to stop it happening again.

Southampton had admitted to "multiple breaches of EFL regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other clubs' training", the EFL said. The club have also received a reprimand in respect of all the charges.
Holmes_and_Watson Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Stunned they've reached that decision. Obviously, we're not privvy to the evidence reviewed. Seems completely disproportionate, if it was a one off.
Toadhall Saint Posted May 19 Posted May 19 From the BBC Southampton had admitted to "multiple breaches of EFL regulations related to the unauthorised filming of other clubs' training", the EFL said. other clubs do not just Boro

You seem to get angry when you don’t like the facts. You didn’t know anything you charlatan. You guessed and got lucky. Even a fucked clock tells the right time twice a day. Get back in the hole you crept out of. 1
qwertyell Posted May 19 Posted May 19 In keeping with the Sport Republic era - every time it looks like we've turned a corner and starting to hint at some kind of organisational competence, rank amateur hour rears its ugly head again. The hilarious thing is, we weren't even good at spying. It was so pathetically half cocked that no-one could credibly believe it was a premeditated practice from a multi million pound company of, supposedly, actual adults. And of course we didn't win any of the games we admitted to spying on. Of course. Leave it to Saints to come up with a master plan that provides bugger all benefit and ends up costing us everything. Bunch of fucking clowns. Fire them all into the sun. 2

Pilchards Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Why appeal because I couldn’t stomach sitting at Wembley knowing my team cheated if it’s overturned. The thing that gets me is the way we cheated. A fucking IPhone watching the action from 150 yards away. They should have thrown Salt under the bus and given him a lofty sum a couple of years later to make up for the shit he suffers. 1

Every question I had surrounding the 72 hour ban and other teams had merit. Boro’s leaks suggesting there were other clubs we’d spied on had to be within the 72 hour period. Ladies and gentlemen, I give you our first "told you so" medal winner! Bravo Maggie, Bravo! 1
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Removal from playoff commuted to financial penalty on appeal, shows the EFL have teeth . Then tighten the rules for next season with defined penalty … Saturdays back on … imo
bolo Posted May 19 Posted May 19 I just cannot get how our misdemeanour has resulted in the biggest punishment ever.... Its not like we have fielded in-eligible players, bribed refs, injured players.... 2
scumbag Posted May 19 Posted May 19 We spied on Oxford?! And lost... I went to my first game with my dad in 35yrs ago, and there have been tough times along the way. But I'm struggling to see where we go from here. 3
Oldandtired Posted May 19 Posted May 19 (edited) Football, from top to bottom, it's not sport anymore. It's just a rotten, under hand business where clubs will cheat to gain any advantage whether it's WWE at corners, financial shenanigans or spying. Every club is at it in one form or another. Saint Scott Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Completely over the top punishment for me, but my god! What on earth are the club doing, made even worse by not gaining any real advantage from the three teams we spied on. Not a single win! It clearly wasn't beneficial so why continue to do it 1

SouSaint Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Club have null and voided the season. They should refund season tickets. Fuck this club and fuck the dogshit owners. Another dark day under these absolute cunts. Everyone OUT. 1

Steve doesn't even have TSP as an excuse as Football Martin is on instead of him. Maybe he's in his basement peddling on his bike to get the servers running 2
Galway saint Posted May 19 Posted May 19 1 minute ago, Stevejb said: What does everyone think will happen with our appeal? I struggle to see how the appeal can proceed tomorrow as we would have less than 24 hours to prepare for it - rules of natural justice etc would be infringed and that would leave the EFL open to a claim. Has to be a real possibility the final is postponed
