Some will say he never beat any big names in their prime but he had some big names on his CV and his performance against Jeff Lacy was one of the best I’ve ever seen considering no one gave him a chance Matt Frazer - 5 times CrossFit world champion. Most guys don’t even podium twice this guy won in 5 years in a row. There is an argument that the winner of the CrossFit games is the fittest person on earth, hard to disagree with the reasoning of it Franceso Totti - probably wouldn’t be top of anyone else’s list but loyal to Roma a wonderful player. There is a story about him struggling with rowing in one of the games workouts so he spent a year rowing every day on top Of his other training to be better. There’s not many sports men and women that good that you can still say they underachieved slightly.

Jessica Ennis, for that Saturday, as the poster girl for London 2012 she must have been under enormous pressure, will never forget her medal ceremony, goosebumps when the National anthem kicked in. 1

Gus Fraser was our tour guide in Barbados for the Test in 2004 - top fella, always liked him as bowler. Not much smaller a mountain than Redgrave. Told us over dinner that Shane Warne used to pay for his own flights to play for Hampshire and that Bransgrove had said Shane was an unbelievable fella as well as cricketer. So lucky to have him play for and captain the county. Met and talked with Sir Colin Cowdrey for about an hour when our local pub re-opened. Asked him about what it was like to face Lillee and Thomson at the WACA having come out of retirement in winter of 1974 in his 40s. He also seemed to walk the line really well of being a party boy, really nice bloke and a great player. His move to city killed him, stuck out on the wing appeared to be told to try and win as many free kicks as he could. Guardiola is a wonderful coach who gets results but it’s a system based on structure which doesn’t suit players like Grealish who just need to be allowed to play. two others you can add to the list are Denis Bergkamp And Andre Iniesta. Decent in the air but not mega tall at around six foot and never quick. But superb touch, awareness, linkup, finishing and vision. Michael Phelps - you don’t win 28 Olympic medals if you’re just alright at something Brazilian Ronaldo - my favourite ever striker. No other out and out number 9 gets anywhere close to him. Honourable mentions to Michael Jordan, Wayne Gretsky, Roger Federer, Tiger Woods and LeBron James.
