I can feel a dull draw against Cardiff in my waters. Ipswich is a nailed on loss. Brummy are hit and miss at the mo and we travel well, so who knows. INFLUENCED.COM Posted 21 February, 2009 Share Posted 21 February, 2009 Preston was concerning, all games are concerning when in our position but equally hard to judge how we will do, as today demonstrated. I will remain optimistic as long as Tuesday's board meeting does not seel our fate.

team-saint Posted 22 February, 2009 Share Posted 22 February, 2009 cardiff have only lost 4 all season (2 away) so will be a tough one. they have drawn 9 away though so i would go with a 1-1 D ipswich will beat us 2-0 L birmingham are in poor form and struggling for goals, will be thinking we are pushovers. 1-0 W derby are in good form but they shouldn't get carried away, we are more than capable of beating them. 2-1 W QPR are quite poor away from home (like preston) and struggle for goals (only scored 12) but also don't concede many (17). 1-0 W

Victor Posted 22 February, 2009 Share Posted 22 February, 2009 "Upcoming"!! The word is 'coming', not 'upcoming'. 'Upcoming' was invented by Sky Sports to advertise some minor sporting event, probably invoving 2 non-league teams or some overdressed Americans, that they know noone gives a toss about watching in the mistaken hope that it will seem more glamorous than it is, and has now been adopted by men in offices wearing suits who want to make the ******** they are spouting sound important. Stop helping to spread this silliness any farther now, please!

Cardiff home - they have gone off the boil a bit but a decent side. Doable. Ipswich - bogey ground but Magilton protests at the moment. Narrow defeat Brum - fancy we might get a score draw if we can keep that horrid midget quiet - the one with the friendly wife Derby - Could win QPR - Draw
SFC Forever Posted 24 February, 2009 Share Posted 24 February, 2009 We need to do something that so far has been beyond us. String a run of good performances together. If we can grab 6 or more points from those 5 games we could be a bit closer to the rest. Let's start with a win on Saturday please.
stockbridge_saint Posted 24 February, 2009 Share Posted 24 February, 2009 it really doesn't matter who the hell we play look at results this season. we've beaten birmingham, reading, preston but then lost to forrest, doncaster, blackpool and so on. i think it's impossible to predict which games we might win. i hope to get 7 points from those 5 games though. West End Saint Posted 24 February, 2009 Share Posted 24 February, 2009 I think we will need 9 points if we are going to turn things around the teams around will probably average a point a game so we need 3 wins from 5 games or 2 wins and 3 draws to claw back the points difference. To have any chance of avoiding the drop we have to go on a run like Donny did I am not convinced that we will do it we played great against Preston if we can beat Cardiff I might start thinking mission impossible is possible but at the moment I still think we are favourite for the drop. PLEASE PLEASE prove me wrong

voteforpedro Posted 24 February, 2009 Share Posted 24 February, 2009 Those teams are doing well in the league, but having played our best football against teams around the top of the table I think we might do ok. Birmingham: lost 2-1 but played well, beat them in the cup Preston: Beat them twice Reading: A win and a draw Wolves: Lost 2-1 but played well, could have won if Euell hadn't been (wrongly) sent off
Saint_clark Posted 24 February, 2009 Share Posted 24 February, 2009 Cardiff are overrated, QPR are hit and miss and Ipswich are having a bad season, and the fans will get on their backs VERY quickly. By the time we play Derby their form could have gone down the sh*tter as well. See, it IS possible to be optimistic.

John D Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 I'm thinking more longer term and reckon we need 6 wins between now and end of season. The home win millstone will have been lifted following Saturday so I reckon we can win 4 out of these home games Derby / QPR / Charlton / Palace / Burnley. Then either Blackpool or Sheff Wed away then brown trouser time for last game of season against Notts Forest of course someone could have spiked my lunch with loopy juice
The Incongruous Monk Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 8 points from these 5 games would be a great return but I feel survival calls for at least 10. We're behind on points and games and a fair few of those around us have upped their game. Each games is now the next "must win". 3 points against Cardiff and it's game on. Anything less and I'll probably give up again :-)

LaptopSaint Posted 25 February, 2009 Share Posted 25 February, 2009 If we can't win two of those five at a minimum we're in the brown stuff. Saturday will show whether we've turned any sort of corner. I think (hope) with the millstone of not winning at home for about seven centuries lifted from our backs we might just relax a bit, fight a bit and go on a run. But I've been wrong before.
