jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 7 April, 2009 Share Posted 7 April, 2009 I knew our recent record against them was bad but on paper it looks even worse! I cant see a clean sheet tonight certainly not unless Size and Perry have become good in the space of 3 days! I would start with DMG on the right. BWP up front with Saga. Euell in the "hole" to hold it up and bring Drew and DMG into play. This way we will be forced to play it on the deck rather than that long ball crap we saw on saturday and against Derby and also QPR thinking about it. SaintDonkey Posted 7 April, 2009 Share Posted 7 April, 2009 OKay to be a bit controversial... ------------ Davis James----JPS----Perry----Mills ------------Surman Thomson-----McGoldrick--Smith -----------Euell ---------------BWP Subs: Forecast, Liptak, Saga, Holmes, Wotton, Schneiderlin I thought Skacel was gash on Saturday. Saga didn't really seem with it either whereas BWP looked more up for the fight. Thomson was caught out of position more times than I can remember but showed he's got something going forwards so stick him on the right wing. Smith impressed me on Saturday (as he did the Villa fan I brought with me who thought he was our best player after he came on) but I can't abide this playing a left footed player on the right wing malarkey. Wotton may add something to the dressing room but he doesn't on the pitch so get Surman back in that holding role.
jasoneuelllfanclub Posted 7 April, 2009 Share Posted 7 April, 2009 Is it me or is Thomson slow? I thought James was a snail until I saw Thomson on Saturday. I swear I read he was supposed to be lightening quick somewhere! I forgot about Holmes. Maybe him on the left. Drew in the holding role and drop Wotton. Again no pace and lacks passing ability. Apparently, according to the latest Wotte spielge on the OS, a few players were totally unsettled by the club's situation for the game last Saturday. I suspect that we'll know which ones because they won't play tonight and be conspicous by their absence.

T.REX Posted 7 April, 2009 Share Posted 7 April, 2009 --------------Davis --James---Size--Perry---Skacel-- ------Schneiderlin--Wotton------- --McGoldrick------------Holmes-- -----------Euell--Saga----------- I'd hazard a guess at lallana and surman being the unsettled ones. I'd like to see Holmes start though i think a subs appearance may be more likely. James will surely come back into the line up. Any idea if there was any disciplinary action taken against Wotte? Interesting, who rattled the players? - someone please tell us it was because they were worried for the CLUB's future not their own careers and surely LC or LM didn't try and give the team talk or something equally dumb? Well it's on the OS Phil, sorry if I'm repeating an earlier post. But in my defence M'lud I did say it on Saturday, nay Friday before the game that it was bound to happen. Players are players, they do a job, there aren't many die hard Saints fans in the team nowadays. They're thinking of their next pay day and little else. I was going over last Saturday, bought my ticket and all, but I've seen the effects of demotivation so many times in my life that I knew it wasn't worth the 3 hour drive to Lyon airport and the £485 it would have cost me, sorry plastic fan and all that. adysaint Posted 7 April, 2009 Share Posted 7 April, 2009 If this game had been played when it should have we'd have lost. Watford were right in the sh*t. Now they're all but safe and we need the points a lot more. Anything we get tonight will be a bonus - I'd take a point for sure. Anyone know what shirt we in? St Marco Posted 7 April, 2009 Share Posted 7 April, 2009 Just about to arrive. First time i been to Watford in a few years. Last time i went i got food poisoning in their service station....Should be a nice Saints turn out tonight so hopefully we can get something. I got a feeling we might get a win. Watford score a lot of goals but they ship a lot of goals too. The defence had a mare against Charlton so if they have a good one today i think we could maybe get a 2-1 win. COYR Also a guy i spoke to said Priskin was out so that has to be good.
Saint Fan CaM Posted 7 April, 2009 Share Posted 7 April, 2009 I think we'll get resoundingly thrashed tonight. In fact, I'll be surprised if we win another game this season. s0108787 Posted 7 April, 2009 Share Posted 7 April, 2009 wotte has dropped saganowski! Idiot!!!! Wotton is still holding in front of the back 4 with his zimmer frame. I'd put llod james in the holding role for some mobility and bite in the tackle and take a punt on one of the young right backs like hatch or imudia. I think Thomson is unlucky to be dropped completely - his performance on saturday was admirable given that lallana left him completely exposed and isolated all game. We just need to get him the ball in good areas. damn right, he did well, he just needs to be told to get to the by-line and cross from there. The long ball mentality will do us no favours particularly when it comes to crossing. Crosses from deep are too easy to defend.
