Oh f*cking dear. How the fook can anyone be 'itk' over transfers when we don't even have an owner to sanction any transfer, infact, from what I understand, we are not even allowed to buy anyone!

LMFAO

Having said that, we should never have got rid of Prutton in the first place. Would have had him in the CM this season as skipper and I think a few of the results might have been a bit different.

Seriously if people are going to be hanging onto the past and slinging blame around for our relegation then a LARGE slice of that blame should go in his direction. For the missed sitter away to West Brom and for his ridiculous sending off and subsequent banning during the crucial run in.

He's all effort no ability, having said that he might well be very good in league 1, but do we really need to go back there?

Like you said initially though, we can't possibly be looking at signing players, unless they are out of contracts.

We can't even look at signing players even if they are out of contract. The business is in administration, so we are not allowed to 'hire' any more staff, that includes players, and looking to buy players for SFC next season is the last thing on anyone at the clubs mind.

He may well have said to someone in the pub that he'd love to come back here, and I don't doubt that, but it won't be any more than that.

One massive contradiction of yours that I have picked up.

You say he is " all effort and no ability "

then....

You blame him partly for our relegation by getting himself sent off and making himself unavailable for the run in....

Surely if he is all effort and no ability then he wouldn't have been any loss?

That's rubbish but at least Prutts had the passion to play and the will to win

Would be a sound signing for us in League One, although I don't believe this rumour.

With all the off-field uncertainity at the minute, there is no way we are in a position to look at potential signings.

Would be more than happy if he did re-join us though! Whilst he's not the greatest footballer ever, he makes up for it in passion.

I wish we had 11 Prutts playing for us yesterday. I for one would welcome him back, a player with a bit of fight, passion and determination and if he could play like he played for us against Liverpool he would be loved by everyone.

The way he played against Liverpool was the best individual performance that I have seen by any Saints player since Matthew Le Tissier was in his prime.

Oh god please no, my least favourite player ever. One of the worst players to ever pull on a Saints shirt. Apart from a few games did nothing, apart from miss an open goal at West Brom, get himself banned for 10 games for pushing the ref and getting into a fight with a Saints fan at Norwich. **** player.

One of the worst players? Rubbish. Not a prem player but remember this is league one. I would love him back.

Don't believe that rumour, but I'd certainly welcome Prutts back. Everyone bemoans his lack of ability, but I wish one of yesterdays shower had HALF the passions Prutts shows. I'd certainly get him in free if we can next year.

Anyone who holds THAT ban against him really is a tit. It was a ridiculous ban. Roy Keane only got 5 games for a deliberate, pre-meditated assult which ended Alf-Inge Haaland's career.

You are wrong in one respect, the football club are not in administration therefore can buy who they like once the window opens.

Having said that, we have no money and staying out of administration until we are hopefully sold is the only objective.

How many players can you name who are worse? (Who played regularly). Prutton plays for a League One team now, and CAN'T EVEN GET IN THE SIDE! People really do have short memories if they think Prutton is the answer. Do people remember our first season down in the Championship? We were abysmal for most of the season, and Prutton was one of the worst players of them all. He is in the same mould as Wotton. Makes up for his lack of ability, by pumping his fist and kissing the badge. He is easily as bad as anything we have in midfield now.

Darren Powell

Jermaine Wright

Jason Euell (last season)

Morgan Schneiderlin

Vincent Pericard

Paul Wotton

Amazingly, I find myself thinking that Prutton and J Wright would have been better players than the rubbish we've had to experience all season - e.g. in midfield...namely Wotton, Schneiderlin, Surman and McGoldrick. In L1 I would have Prutton back as one of the first names on the team sheet - he truly loved the club and had bags of passion...all the attributes everyone on here has been moaning about this season AND last!

(Yes, I know McD is our so called top scorer, but thats because someone else is doing all the donkey work for him - he doesn't put in a full shift in attack and doesn't put in a full shift in midfield, so effectively we lose a player every game. In a 4-4-2 system McD would not get a game even in L1, but I suspect he will be our lone striker if Wotte has his way.)

Powell and Pericard will give you. Wotton probably as well. Schneiderlin is a decent footballer who looked good at the start of the season and is still young. As for Wright, I personally thought he was alright. He was a regular in our play off season and played his part, imo. I would take him back right now. Wright managed to get himself another Championship club after leaving us, Prutton hasn't. He can't even get in the Leeds team anymore.

Ormerod was pretty forgettable in his half season with us in CCC.

Oh, and Davenport and Bernard. *shudder*

Prutton no better than any of those, just my opinion. I remember just before he left the vast majority of people on here agreed that he was rubbish and not good enough for us.

2 appearances since Christmas, has not contributed much to Leeds success this season, I guess Glyn Snodin knows from his time at Saints Pruttons limited ability. Should have been a great player but completely lost his way, and his ability went backwards. Seems to have past his very limited best of last season. I know we can't be fussy, but he really is a very average 3rd division player.

He is in talks with Portsmouth. Link is Hart from his Forest days.

This is the same Prutton who waved mockingly at the Pompey fans after our last minute FA Cup win at SMS????

I don't think he will be going there somehow

No matter how hard I try, and I know it wasnt all down to him, but whenever I think of Prutton (which aint often) I see that open goal he missed at WBA and the relegation that followed. No thank you.

Prutton's miss is way down the list IM.

Well below:

Lowe

Wigley

Redknapp

Bernard

Davenport

Lundekvam

Jackobsson

The injury crisis in October

And no worse than:

Higgy's own goal against Boro

Claus backing out of a challenge with Downing 1 minute later

Kenton not closing down Van Persie at Highbury

Whoever was supposed to be marking Fletcher and Van Nistelrooy

Crouch having a lame shot in injury time against Everton

TBF, if some people on here thought 'he was rubbish and not good enough for us' he is some pretty illustrious company.

Not good enough for Saints:

Prutton

Kevin Davies

Delap

Oakley

Higinbotham

Telfer

Dean Richards

Jermaine Wright

Brett Ormerod

Blackstock

Fuller (!)

Not sure if that lot would have served up the complete debacle I witnessed yesterday and be on a one-way ticket to Div 3?
