  1. I remember that, they suddenly bought about 4 strikers that year. The hammer c*nt at work was boring me to tears about how they would all be world beaters. Fat f**king pr*ck. Ahem.
  2. I'd forgotten about them as well!
  3. Ah okay thanks, didn't realise we'd sent anyone on loan yet, must have missed that.
  4. The younger ones look like they've got more potential as the older ones were stunted in their development the last year or 2. I was gutted we lost Koeman, but his regime whilst being awesome for the 1st team, did nothing for the youngsters - they needed to be more involved with the 1st team squad as they were under Pochettino. Oh well, it's done now. Hopefully many of them can get good loans and grow. If we get 1 or 2 from that list in the first team, then that'll be great. Open questions - where is Callum Slattery? Where is Jason McCarthy? Ta.
  5. Just thinking about who is still to come back into the team; Davis, Long, Cedric, Fonte, Bertrand, Forster ... Those are 5 key players. We looked nice in the first half yesterday, 2nd half not so good after all the changes (inevitable), but at least it gives Puel a chance to see who could possibly make the step up, if anyone. I think we'll miss Mane the most out of the players we've sold. But Redmond is looking like a great buy.
  6. And Gallagher assaults the goalie and gets given a goal ...
  7. Some ex-Celtic dutch defender. Looks okay in preseason so far.
  8. Agree. Can't work out anything on 'new manager' tactics though, not yet anyway.
  9. Or it might just be that he's the only Twente player doing anything of note??
  10. Stronger team 2nd half!
  11. I actually imagine neither PFC nor SFC wanted to pay for policing, which let's be honest, would be required. Especially as PFC apparently won't be taking the JPT seriously
  12. And a cup final! Preferably Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup, JPT in that order. (Can't believe I even typed JPT!!)
  13. Well it would work. LFC: "Guys, we've found another unproven [in the Premier League] player who is young and we think could be great, however we don't want to develop him" SFC: "No probs, we'll sign him, develop him and then you can purchase him in 2 years if he's successful for a preferential fee" LFC: "When you say preferential ... " SFC: .........
  14. That HITC is complete trash, I wish people would stop quoting it, it's like the old team talk.
  15. Agree, I actually can't see the U21 teams getting past the 'groups' if they're still doing that. L2 and a lot of L1 still have some traditional cloggers in their teams who'll just kick the sh*t out of the kids who will then be too afraid to get stuck in. And also agree that no one from a proper club (i.e. Colchester in your example) is going to take the trip down to St Marys to see our U21s play their first team. In fact, some clubs may not bother with a first team and play their own reserves ... ? Most people just won't be able to justify the extra expense for this travel.
  16. Buying talent to win the JPT!
  17. Wouldn't surprise me. You probably played football manager and took AFC Totton to the Champions League, so you could quote that on an application.
  18. Come on Saintsweb Having a meltdown Bring your tampons and new bedsheets
  19. Okay, thanks, that's sold it for me, I won't bother going this season then so thanks for the heads up, Nostradamus.
  20. Awesome!
  21. It's all so expensive and ridiculous. I've downgraded my Virgin Media package from XL, to L, to M - I don't care about the extra channels of rubbish and if I want to watch sports, I'll either go and watch in person or find another way. If you *really* want to watch a match and pay, Now TV is great, you can subscribe to Sky Sports for £6.99 for 24 hours - perfect for a couple of times a year.
  22. Potentially the worst Olympics of our time - when is it anyway?? Having said that, any Olympics for us, was going to be a let down after 2012 in London.
  23. What annoys me more about this is the need to bring colour into the news. The policeman shot the guy for no reason - he said so himself. There is no mention of colour at all. "Why did you shoot me?" "I don't know" Absolutely no need for the news article to mention colour at all, completely unnecessary - you can see the guy is black. All the headline does is stir up the wrong kind of emotions which is part of the problem. Edit: Apologies, I quoted the wrong one - I was referencing the Independent news article.
  24. What do you recruit for?
