  1. As he said earlier, Saints taught him a lot. Though clearly, not enough! Lol!...
  2. Always enjoyed beating Man United Inc since 76, but some wins better than others - a peach today, Clasie better on the day than Schneiderlin, Forster our king of the clean sheets, Koeman better than Van Gaal and may have sacked him, Austin, the player most Saints fans saw as our missing link, scores within minutes on the debut! Eighth place, now to overtake Liverpool and all that baggage. Onwards you beauties!...
  3. They are on it, page 12234, sandwiched between AFC Chernobyl and the Jimmy Savile fan club first XI...
  4. To be fair to him, he was skint and needed the money.
  5. Very good post, a situation that may be dawning on Wanyama's 'advisors'!...
  6. Indeed, what a memorable window that would be. Thus allowing the dildo bros to get f*cked, good and proper!
  7. Lovely analogy and Ronald may allude to this, but it may well be like flaming brandy on a Christmas pudding!
  8. Totally agree. Also, not one of the recent high level departees has been a spectacular success unless you are talking about accountancy. We may not be far away from our 'stars' realising that the choice is respected starter at a strong mid table club or squad filler at one of the big four - we live in hope. Seeing the artist formerly known as Rickie Lambert last Saturday, genuinely a dour shadow of his former self, the message loud and clear should be to be careful what you wish for...
  9. Agree with this, here's his Prem goals last year in a poor QPR side, complete striker. If he gets near this form we've got hell of a bargain -
  10. Simply superb to get Austin at £4m, plenty left in the kitty and time in the window for once! What else do we need lads? Loan or permanent, right back cover and attacking midfielder, perhaps. Last year we petered out, perhaps in 2016 with some quality new blood we are due a late surge!
  11. Super, super signing, just what we needed, and an absolute steal. If we can get J-Rod fit and back to form we could have two of England's front line!
  12. Bugger, another one bites the dust...
  13. He'd do! Proven rather than potential (Dost record 1 in 2 in the Bundesliga) is what we require.
  14. Spot on. Expect nothing to happen until the last hour of the window when we will sign the out of favour Hertz Van Rental and Adios Comprendo - both been utter horsesh*te for two years, but "lots of potential, and bound to improve under our revolutionary coaching set up"...
  15. T These are exactly the type and level of players we need. So, not a chance...
  16. And that's the critical difference, very small margins at this level. Cortese had many faults, but stubbornly making big decisions wasn't one of them, you are right Roger.
  17. Sad indictment of modern football really when you consider how interesting it would have been had that side been kept together.
  18. There are a number of threads on Liverpool forums where you are able to chart the corrosive disappointment and frustration. When he signed a scouse mate excitedly asked me how I thought he'd do for them? I said, think Barmby rather than Barnes, and I'm sticking with that... http://forums.thisisanfield.com/threads/adam-lallana-2015-16.18384/page-8
  19. And you are very much entitled to it, SOG - even though you are clearly wrong ;-)
  20. Confirmed sighting this morning of Clasie, Stek, VVD, and Martina in Sprinkles despondently eating crepes, Clasie on a booster seat. Clearly a social split in the camp, FFS...
  21. This pretty much, it's just differing views on a virtual forum, with a handful of posters taking it seriously and getting uppity (I told you so and so on et al...) depending on form and fortune. Most of it is tongue in cheek and some of it an attempted wind up, but if you're a Saints fan posting on here you probably want to see your side doing as well as possible, and there are various shades of what that means. I would offer that in the last year our Chairman and Director of Football haven't helped a great deal in terms of fan expectation with comments like '"We have the structure to reach the Champions League in the next five years. But it's important to be established as a top-six club over that period," "We have set our own standards now and we are confident over the course of the coming years we will play in Europe and we are confident we are right to have an aspiration to play in the Champions League," and "We have an unbelievable track record of development so that can bring us to be a big club. We just need to do that for a few more years. Every single club that evolved went through this before they became a big club." This is allied to a period of supporting Saints when we've been more or less an irresistible force. The hope amongst Saints fans, positive or negative at present, is that the current run of awful form is a blip and that we can consolidate and improve, nobody with any common sense will gloat if we don't and nobody with any common sense should gloat if we do.
  22. Agreed, in fact I'd take Ralph Malph over the Krugermeister...
  23. Lol, now when you put it like that! Curly, Larry and Moe...
  24. Final wake up call before slipping into the coma chaps. Utter sh*te. #itshappening - but now how Ralph planned...
  25. Failure to strengthen this time last year started the rot.
