Can't wait. First game of season and leaving inn10 minutes. A Christmas treat- gonna give Chelski a very good game. Prediction 1:1 Terry to slip and Long to score.
-
Awesome! So good- great short promotional dvd. Like many, RL is a great talisman that we all miss- some cracking goals too...I'm jealous of those going tomorrow!
-
Never aim for second - if we win all our remaining games, then we win the league! Only Chelsea have shown anything like title form, apart from us. I hope city and chelsea etc draw loads now. Saints can win- they have winners in the side. Believe!

For those who think can/will finish higher than 8th this season

I really believe that this season we will be right up there - not blind faith, but confidence that winners are in the squad. Forster has won the league, albeit in Scotland. Mane is a winner.. others have played in Champions league... and Koeman has loads of winners medals! THAT is the difference this season- we have genuine winners with experience. I recon the so called big 4 are very nervous of us, and our +ve goal difference and I see nothing in Liverpool or Spurs that should mean we enter matches as underdogs. ..Can't wait to play the big boys, especially if we see off Leicester etc. -
13th Would love a great start to bolster confidence

I don't normally slate anyone, but he was terrible- whoever thought he could co-commentate needs to be well and truly challenged about this role! I don't blame him, but the people who assigned him to the role!
-
Fair enough- can't argue with that.

Hmm ... so how many clubs have been deducted points for fielding an illegible player... I think one or two may cry foul on this one!
-
Like others- done. Fully supportive. Can't believe the mess has been allowed to drag for so long!

What a great reminder of halcyon days - many a day on the terraces watching dream football. The cup highlights are great too- you can't beat winning at Wembley...unless it's winning the league maybe?

Has anyone got decent 76 cup final memorabilia?

A signed photo of Osgood and Stokes with cup in bath at wembley! Given as a gift to me by a ggroup of children I taught ... in the last couple of years! Happy pic!!!!! -
Very good article- written by someone who clearly knows his stuff!

Plenty of time yet... predict 2:1
-
Well, the WBA squad will now have to cope with a hugely enthusiastic and in form Rikie Lambert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will win 3:2
-
I do wonder why England don't have more strikers in the squad- I'd take Lambert and Carroll... but my guess - if all are fit, is Rickie will be dropped... so if he only gets one cap WELL DONE my lad!
-
Difficult- but I'd go for Cork as player of season and Shaw for young player.
-
I suspect KD wanted to stay for a variety of reasons, not least to avoid uprooting his family. Perhaps he took a pay cut, but spread it over three years to provide that stability whilst he aslo worked on is coaching badges.

Great idea- still can't believe it! Has any other club done this? I've never heard of it over the 40+ years of following football. My message will be added!

Are we finally in a position to keep our youngsters?
It's There replied to washsaint's topic in The Saints
As a youngster on a contract at Saints they would:know the expectations, have a home base, be on a great wage comaped to peers outside football, have opportunities to play in Prem- see that it won't stop England managers picking you (AL clearly being closely monitored) and be part of a successful team. They will notice that various "youngsters" have departed to man C etc and are stuck either on the bench or not playing. I reckon most would choose to stay and play until they were mid 20s at least when they can rethink their position, but still be able to command a highly promising fee and be more likely to start matches in the first team of their new club. But hey, that's what I think! -
He also has a fit squad with Shaw and Cork - both playing well, and Ramirez... class act. Confidence rising!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NA is a great manager!!!!!!!!!
