  1. Personally I think he's a brilliant manager and have done since he was appointed. I don't want any old has beens in charge. Who would we get that's so much better- from the Prem? I'd have Sir Alex Ferguson, Wenger.. or Moyes (perhaps the only likely one out of the three). I honestly wouldn't want any of the others, including Mancini - because I don't think any of them are any BETTER than our Nigel. No, I want him(NA) on a long contract. I love his signings- made I'm sure with lots of discussions with a "buying" team- recently- and believe that we will surprise a lot this season and be in the top ten- nearer 6th by the end of the season- (see my prediction before the season started!) I love his positivity...it's catching!
  2. agreed
  3. Big win today for Saints
  4. Bench looks a lot stronger!
  5. V poor in my opinion- I use this website for news!!!!!!!!!
  6. Golden boot winner- played 36 times for his country- wow- at such a young age!
  7. Ramirez will add quality and some extra spark- while adding competition for places and creating more uncertainty for the opposition with his ability to pass quickly and create as well as score goals- hope he's ready for Sunday- sign up quickly!
  8. Personally I think too many underestimate the quality of NA. We will be fine this season and surprise many- including the big three. We will finish in the top 10.
  9. I thin you underestimate the talent- I say 6th... and that's dropping to it in the latter stages of the season.
  10. Saints proved in the Premiership last time round that they could beat anyone on their day. The difference with the bigger clubs is the CONSISTENCY and ability to cope with injuries. This time around I suspect our SQUAD will be stronnger and therefore we will be in a better position to cope- we will do better than a lot are predicting, but the asperations are vital- AIM HIGH!
  11. disagree- if fitness is proved, he will return to being good player- and with our style and coaching he will help improve the squad.
  12. My problem is... I just love the sash!
  13. Like David Connolly .. who proved to be a great asset, even with missing a fair number of matches
  14. Hooper to play for Adkins...time to have a chat in his ear perhaps??
  15. Away...to Liverpool Result: Liverpool 1 Saints 3 (R lambert to score...Liverpool goal a consolationin 89th minute- to Kelvin's annoyance!)
  16. NO. We are there to compete- we aim high- the team will learn and progress. We will not settle for mediocre (ie 17th!) I full expect us to be pushing for a top 10 finish and will be disappointed if we're lower than 15th...and I don't care if the Prem is considered stronger- we must be better then and prove we deserve to be at the top table.
  17. Ofsted would say it's requiring improvement...because they can't read anything positive into anything...but I'd give you a straight A ! Loved the Pompey jibe! Many thanks!
  18. great memories
  19. Peronally, the whole team deserve credit- the medical and fitness team that has kept Lambert available for selection etc -each has played their part and I bet that both Adkins and the Don will recognise that... Well done team!
  20. Ok - Aged 48 ...yet another in that bracket!- born in Southanmpton- currently a Deputy Head in primary school Started seeing Saints in 1972 - lost to Brum 2:0...but saw the rise of Saints and some FAB matches in late 70s and early 80s-Ball, Channon, Keegan, and co First away game- Coventry with girlfriend-sat in with Cov fans!!! Only one to go oooooh when Steve Williams hit post-got some very dirty looks...lucky I was with girlfriend! Best Match seen live...loads- but Saints beating Ipswich 4:3 when 3:1 down at Half Time in 80s was a great atmosphere Still remember filling up with petrol and hearing commentators going back to Dell repeatedly in 90s when Saints recovered from 1 :0 to beat Newcastle 3:1 in last five minutes. Moved up to Worcester then near Leominster (not far from Wales) and with family can rarely afford to go- but ALWAYS reading this forum Took son and daughter to first match 2 years ago and went to Wembley for Cup final v Carlisle Forever a Saint!
  21. A simple rule change here would suffice. Any club that does not file its acounts on time cannot play any loan players brought in during the preceding 3 months- hence immediately stopping shoddy accounting clubs/ clubs in trouble from benefitting beyond 1st March- hence other clubs won't need to moan about unfair advantage in the build up to the meaty end of season etc.
  22. How did Reeves, Shaw and Lee play? And Barnard too? as they've hardly figured this season.
  23. Could we but Rhodes and loan him back for the season? He gets a promotion on his cv, leaves everyone happy and we're planning well ahead for the Premiership... ok maybe a daft idea...
