  1. well written article and i fully hold my hands up to thinking he was one of the worst players i had ever seen wearing a Saints shirt the first time i saw him play......but my oh my the man has gone on to prove me very wrong. He has a footballing brain and thats why i think he sometimes looked poor...it wasnt him it was the rest of our English players that just didnt expect the simple layoffs, the delicate chips etc. Saints and everyone else is seeing the best of Guly because NA has got the team up there with the Brazilian. Someone mentioned a luxury player, a bit like our famous no.7.....Guly is best playing just off Lambert....didnt a certain Le Tiss often play just off the strikers....long may he continue there and Saints will reap the rewards!
  2. LOL, thats my boy!
  3. Talking of worst player injuries, take a read and look at this:- http://may-cause-offence.tumblr.com/post/11060994352/head-shoulders-knees-and-toes
  4. I'm not going to take sides here as personally i think its a great shame that things have come to this and i dont believe one party is more right than the other. I will for my tuppence worth say this:- a fan that attends every home game year in year out is as much a contributing factor to the success of a club as any player or manager. Take away those thousands of fans that attend year in and year out and there would be no SFC......No player, manager or chairman is bigger than the club...The fans are the club and we dont ask for anything for supporting our club and digging deep into our pockets!!
  5. There can be no doubt about it we are experiencing the worst recession i have seen and i saw thousands lose their homes in the 80's. Football is a luxury whatever way you look at it. Add too that it was a Sunday and the weather was awful possibly effecting the walk up. Overall i still thought the attendance was very good and i commend those that are forking out to support the team. There are many thousands i suspect who would love to go and show their support but some of the reasons above would have been good reason for not attending.
  6. This is worth a read, he's a good reporter! http://may-cause-offence.tumblr.com/post/10366825931/fourtress-st-marys
  7. 2 Assists from Frazer Richardson, the link up play sounds amazing
  8. Personally i care very little for the press and particularly the Echo. They are in the business of making money, so bland factual stories is not what they want. I have often been in the position over the last few years to know the exact facts behind some of the stories they have printed and believe me the stories they have printed have been sensationalism and factually wide of the mark. I don't think the Echo are any worse than other media outlets but i'm not surprised if the club have been rather cool in their treatment of them.
  9. I believe he is injured. I did see him in a couple of pre-season games and i could not believe how poor he was in those games. I honestly believe we may have seen the last of him as a first choice player.
  10. Seriously Alps, hope whatever is wrong is treatable and you are back 100% fit. Will be nice to know you are somewhere in the crowd come the Millwall game. Take no notice of any cynical stupid remarks on here.
  11. To be honest those that moan about Cortese brighten my day. I find it really amusing that even when there is so much to smile about Saints there are still so many miserable gits out there.
  12. I try and not read too much into pre-season games but i have to say i am concerned about Jaidi, he was shockingly bad last weekend and appears to have been the same yesterday from what people have posted that went. I would have liked to have seen us sign an experienced CB during pre-season and have a horrible feeling that we will be found out defensively this season if this area is not addressed.
  13. A really enjoyable first game, pick of the goals was Connollys, excellent build up and perfect finish. Lalana is class, oxo was just too much for weirder and Guly really is a class player. All in all cracking first game!
  14. having watched his youtube clips the lad looks very talented, very quick feet, good passer, good crosser and a decent shot on him.......if he lives up to these clips then all praise to NC and NA for getting him to sign. I'll be gutted if we lose OXO but i'm less confirmed now!
  15. NA not giving anything away in his interview other than saying OXO has handled himself really well. Didnt really say anything about the comments attributed to OXO over the last 2 days
  16. Sky have interview coming up with NA regarding OXO......waits with bated breath
  17. I think everyone should calm down....THIS IS THE ECHO REPORTING!!!!....has none learnt anything over the last few years when it comes to the stories in the echo!
  18. I will look quite funny in "Big Dave Watson" shirt as i'm quite small but i will do my best to fill the shirt and live up to the name on the back....at least i'm playing in a position i play all season. Thanks very much for the chance to play and i hope you are able to play next season.
  19. I have emailed you. Thank you.
  20. it amazes me how a small minority have to find something negative to say about the club and NC in particular. I should imagine NC went through a number of different emotions on Saturday.....his great friend never got to see part of the dream fulfilled and the singing by the fans chanting Markus name must have really chocked him. He has never been in charge of a football club that has just won promotion and he must have felt an enormous amount of pressure delivering promotion for not only the fans but the Leibherr family. If he didnt appear totally relaxed i'm not surprised but i bet he was brimming with pride inside that he has delivered part one of Markus dream. Have a great summer NC and thanks for a great year. Great to be a Saints fan once again.
  21. well that was easy, got 4 tickets and pick them up tomorrow. No hassle at all.
  22. Excellent going Mike, thanks for all the time and effort you have put in. Myself and mini me will donate.
  23. LOL, i forgot it was bank holiday friday and our rivals played at 3pm, not 7.45pm. So having just seen the results i'm gutted to see Udders are still winning games, they are determined to make every Saints supporter a nervous wreck between now and the 7th May. My heart says stay strong we will prevail....my head says you know this is Saints and they will feck this up! I just think all these injuries to top players have now caught up with us and we will not be strong enough in our remaining 3 away games. Please Saints prove me wrong!
