  1. The very system that had Long playing out wide. Arguably his best season for us.
  2. He should have never been appointed. I get the distinct impression that we didn't have a Puel replacement lined up, which was utter madness, and we've ended up with whoever we could get. That being the case, we should have just kept Puel. Now I was no Puel fan but MP makes him look like a genius.
  3. I've been calling for Long to play instead of Redmond for weeks. His work rate is probably the best in the team. He's a far better option than Redmond.
  4. Funny isn't it. He takes Redmond off and 8 mins later we're level. He's a sub at best at the moment. Stick Long in that position, simply because he works his ******** off, and play Gabbi up front. FFS, everybody seems to be able to see where the problem lies except the manager, which is very worrying.
  5. Hard to disagree. The persistence with Redmond and Tadic is driving me ****ing mad. I'm actually beginning to detest the pair of them. Just move Long into Redmond's role and bring on Gabbi.
  6. Which is what I've been saying for months. Can't remember which game it was last season, (it may have been the Boro game?) but we'd been short of goals and I was begging for Puel to Play Long and J-Rod in place of Tadic and Redmond. Much to my surprise he did it and we actually scored goals. I honestly don't understand how Redmond makes the first 11 every week.
  7. When will he drop that useless ****, Redmond? Just play Long in that position & play Gabbi up top.
  8. Been saying Long should start ahead of Redmond since last season. Long's work rate is superb. Redmond dips in and out of games and has no end product. How he's one of the first names on the team sheet is beyond me.
  9. Certainly didn't expect that result. Actually looking forward to watching the game later. Shame that some fans booed VVD. He's part of the team (for now) and we should be getting behind him whilst he's still here.
  10. I feel exactly the same way. The whole thing has become ridiculous. I find myself looking at the non-league results before I look at the Premier****e.
  11. I met the son of former Liverpool owner, Rick Parry in July. He worked with MP at Liverpool. I asked him what he thought about him being appointed Saints manager and his response was "He's a lovely guy but I'm really not sure he's the right man to take Southampton forward. I think he'll struggle. I certainly don't see his appointment as progress after Puel. I know you didn't like his style of football but I thought he did pretty well. I don't think MP will bring anything radically different." I know it's just an opinion but it's from somebody who worked with the guy so figured it was worth sharing.
  12. I think we'll lost against Palace. Sadly, I'm really not expecting anything to improve as I'm not sure MP really knows what he's doing. He looks totally out of his depth. That line up & performance against Wolves being the prime example. Knowing how slow Les is to react, he'll probably get rid with 6 games to go by which time it'll be too late.
  13. You can't just blame the manager but he has to accept some of the responsibility as It's his job to select the players, formation and tactics. He's there to coach and motivate. What I've seen so far causes great concern. Poor tactics & terrible substitutions. Just look at that game against Wolves. Why try and win a competition when you can **** around and experiment with the formation? I know it's early days but what we've seen so far is not good. He's taken the same system, which wasn't great, and somehow made it worse. Look at teams like, Burnley, Brighton, Stoke, Watford and Huddersfield. They're all having a go. Saints look totally unmotivated with no fire or spark. I'd say it's a close call between us and Newcastle for the worst team I've watched this season. I'll be amazed if we don't go down.
  14. Maybe, but what really is utterly pathetic is the team selection, tactics and overall performance.
  15. We ****ed around, missed the better managers and have had to make do with another average choice. I'd like to think he'd be gone by Xmas but Reed will only **** around over making that decision. Based upon his inability to act quickly, he'll probably fire him with 4 games to go and then it'll be too late.
  16. This is ****ing ****e. We actually look like we've gone backwards under MP, and that's saying something after, Puel. Why are we still playing the same bloody system??? Had we moved quickly Silva might have been a good option. Instead we ****ed around and ended up with the best of the rest, which is no better than what we had. ****ing garbage.
  17. It won't be an easy win. They're a decent side who'll give us a tough game.
  18. Integrate him. The fans should get behind him to show him how much he means to them and the club. No point in turning on him and giving him a load of **** - Save that for when he does finally leave. For now he's still at the club and is an important part of the team.
  19. Seen him play a couple of times for the Netherlands. Wasn't impressed. His off the ball movement was poor and he constantly made runs into the wrong place. It was like he wasn't on the same wavelength as the rest of the team. Maybe he's one of those strikers who needs the ball gifted to him. Made me think of Beattie and how he never would have scored as many goals as he did if it wasn't for Ormerod.
  20. I think they're a great band. Have you heard The Vryll Society from Liverpool? I first saw them in Dublin a couple of years ago. Seen then 5 or 6 times since. First saw them supporting Blossoms. Also on the bill were Viola Beach who were tragically killed just a few days later.
  21. Not normally my sort of thing but I thought that was the best performance I saw on that season of Later.
  22. I think you're right. Stand more chance of seeing me in one of his Saints shirts. I've got one of his EL shirts from last season. ;-)
  23. I'm not disputing that. I'm saying that of the 3 players he's the most likely to score. Redmond's and Tadic's goal record is even worse. At least Long puts in a shift. The other two just drift in and out of games. What we really need was sold to WBA. Just look at the reviews he's getting. Anyway, he's gone and we've been over and over that subject and done it to death so we'll just have to move on.
  24. 43 will be about where we end up unless we start taking our chances.
