  1. Lol - when have they actually ever reduced the value of a sponsorship deal? They took a long hard look at the Man City deal and did sweet FA as I recall.
  2. And a nice Pompey at the World Cup article. Apparently, the Senegal Head Coach made 28 appearances for Pompey over a decade ago.
  3. Pompey owners ready to spend big on Fratton Park Somehow it's a matter of pride that they can afford essential maintenance to keep the tatty timber tabernacle from collapsing completely
  4. Excuse me, "journalism"?
  5. Apparently, he doesn't want to leave: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/06/12/manolo-gabbiadinis-agent-comments-on-his-southampton-future/
  6. Seems we intend scavenging from Aston Villa http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-5812993/Aston-Villa-six-academy-graduates-squad-season.html
  7. We kept things very tight for much of the season and by keeping men behind the ball restricted the number of chances created against us. The problem was, that when someone did pop a half decent ball into the box, more often than not, it got tucked away. I think our central defenders' lack of presence, particularly in the air, has a lot to say in that regard.
  8. Crook plugging Shaqiri again: https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-tottenham-interested-paying-12million-12646902
  9. He also has trouble with numbers: "It is understood Curtis’ transfer fee is well in excess of six figures." https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/pompey/pompey-chief-curtis-fits-kenny-s-recruitment-criteria-1-8507458
  10. Lol - I'm clearly desperate too
  11. Yay - an actual rumor: http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/05/24/report-southampton-targeting-lyon-defender-mouctar-diakhaby/
  12. Lol exactly
  13. Don't worry, they won't be making the same mistakes with their stadium as some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and their due diligence takes in more than just how the other guys serve beer. It's all because everyone in football really loves them, so all the other clubs are happy to share their secrets. True story
  14. Mpumbavu
  15. I don't want to bash the lad, and he has a lot of positive qualities but he is anything but a top quality CB at the present time. He's easily the weakest in our squad of not very good center backs.
  16. : It had been coming though that was the first time Derby had properly got down the flanks. Targett, was, er, targeted there, and Derby overloaded once they got the ball out to the left. Jerome is always capable of bullying defenders. 10m ago 20:21 [h=2]Goal! Derby 1-0 Fulham (Jerome 34)[/h] Huddlestone’s ball gets Forsyth out on the left. Great cross, and Jerome powers through Matt Targett to get there.
  17. Couldn't agree more: Sam Gallagher's stats for a struggling Championship side Birmingham: 316 minutes per goal 2213 minutes played 7 Goals scored 0 Assists Shots on target 18 (38%) Total shots 48 Charlie Austin's stats for struggling Premier League side Southampton 138 minutes per goal 966 minutes played 7 Goals scored 0 Assists Shots on target 25 (66%) Total shots 38
  18. So, 10 times he wasn't in Birmingham's starting XI - not exactly the first name on the teamsheet. And their reactions seem to be mixed at best: https://birmingham.vitalfootball.co.uk/given-100-for-us-hasnt-done-enough-for-me-debate-over-re-signing-birmingham-loanee/ He's scored 7 goals at a rate of 316 minutes per goal and has achieved zero assists - which is pretty poor really. He's not even the best striker at Birmingham, and he's certainly not one of the best in the division.
  19. He's also had periods when he's just not been selected for Birmingham, and Blackburn were relegated. He is definitely not a first pick in 90% of Championship teams, I can name any number of Championship forwards who are better than he is.
  20. Errr... Gallagher wasn't first pick for Birmingham for much of the season, and they're ****.
  21. He's been brilliant, best keeper we've had since the flying Finn
  22. Swansea really aren't very good
  23. This has 0-0 written all over it, if you ask me.
  24. Credit to Yoshi for dealing with the rat-faced one, but we never looked like scoring
