  1. Did we not give them a Guard of Honour at the last game at the Dell, after they had won the 1st Division Championship?
  2. That seems a sensible point of view to go along with.
  3. Dickson my MOM today. Midfield poor and will never hack it in Championship. Passing went continully astray and seemed to stand off all the time. Connelly changed the game when he came on and we then looked more of a strike force. In saying that the Gas were never in it as far as their strikeforce went but their defence played well and tried very hard.
  4. What a great day, whilst the stats show how close it was, we were so clinical in our finishing. Our two CD were immense and they both got everything in the air. The skill Fonte showed with the ball before he passed it to Lambert for Barney's goal was a treat to see. We left the car in a leafy road near Greenford Tube Station and got the central line all the way to Leyton. Passed our coaches around Basingstoke on the way back so that proved to be a good decision.
  5. This was the first year of trading for the new Company and all the upfront costs would have been factored in so that tax losses can be carried forward ie Legal fees, Accountants fees, Due Dilligence Fees, valuation fees etc.
  6. Beatts was great for us but we do not wish to spoil good memories by having him back now. We are in a different arena.
  7. I hope Jaidi can play as I recall BWP was terrified of big Darren Moore when we played Barnsley at home in the Championship.
  8. NA told us he bought N'gussen and Forte for power & pace, in the transfer window. With OxC out, they must now step up to the plate and with Championship experience, they should be capable.
  9. If DS gets us over the problem our existing midfiellders have in not getting to the ball first and standing back whilst opponents get it under control, he will do for me. The rest of his ability seems to speak for itself if the Oldham Fans opinions are true.
  10. No, George Kingfish Stephens
  11. Thats the injury to our wingers settled then.
  12. I agree with Sour Mash that we have not played well since the Oldham game. We do not seem to have upped our game since then and I have come away from SMS and some away games thinking we were poor but lucky to win. If we do not improve and this luck deserts us, we shall only reach the play offs at best. We all know what can happen then when Uncle George was in charge. I cannot help feeling worried now.
  13. Their last accounts show group t/o £30M with profit before tax at £300K and NCR's at £960K. All financial ratios showing continued growth which as Nicola has stated, fits in with our own strategy.

    Lambert

His lay offs and assists have been superb this year.

    Adkins

It is all very well asking for Adkins to sign strikers, but he did try to get players in the Jan transfer window. Either they did not wish to come or their clubs put too high a price on their heads. Surely we can improve those we have to score goals. They seem to do ok in the Chapel Goal during the kick about.
  16. Let us hope this is the last of our "bad" spell. We cannot afford any more slip ups now as we risk not even being in the play offs. With the set up, players, training facilities, support and back up staff we really should not be losing to these lower league teams who have nothing like our facilities. From the stats and reports, it does look as though this was "one of those games". But Team Saints, no more please!
  17. After we missed our early chances and Chaplow clearly not at his best, Adkins made the right substitutions and we got well on top when MS and Barnard came on. They should both start Tuesday night.

    The Pitch

Does cut up more than before at SMS. Seems to have a lot of sand underneath presumably for drainage, May be better next season once the new grass has had a year to bed in.
  19. The problem with this Government is they are making too many errors, due to Ministers inexperience hence the number of U turns we have seen over the last few months.
  20. The Tory Council in West Dorset are going ahead with new offices in Dorchester costing £10M to include a new Library, when a petition with 2000 signatures against and only 22 in favour has been presented. They are closing libraries elsewhere in the County and Dorchester already has one. Undoubtedly the Building will cost more at the time and the council tax payers will have to fund it. Tax payers have set up a fighting fund to have a Judicial Review to try and stop this madness, but they will all be able to vote with their feet at the appropriate time,
  21. And Mark Schwarzer. Remember him at SMS when we were in the Premier League. He came out and caught every cross that was going.
  22. Interesting to see Chaplow's goal was knocked down for him by Rickie, who is doing this so much more this season, thus giving the others more scoring chances.
  23. Bart is so much taller than Kelvin and that is why he will come off his line more. I hope he will have watched Van der Sar is this respect.
  24. All last season and this we have said on this forum that Kevin will not dominate his box. At this crucial time of the season chickens are still coming home I am afraid. 5 dodgy goals in three games is a dropable offence unfortunately. Seabourne was poor too.
