SaintDonkey Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 Thankyou for making the sacrifice and killing off the Lowe regime. You are the reason that Lowe and Wilde are no longer at the club. You are the reason that we don't have to endure life in League 1 with Lowe and Wilde still at the club. You are the reason that Saints are now on the verge of single ownership, and that the PLC is dead. You are the reason that Saints now have a future and that the feelgood factor is returning. Thankyou for making it happen, you saved SFC. Really feeling that feelgood factor now!

saint_stevo Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 On a brighter note, and to get away from the legals for a moment to try and lighten the mood, I was most amused to be e-mailed a picture of a characature chap kicking a tyre this afternoon by a friend on here. Could I politely ask you to perhaps replace the tyre with a lawyer and a rule book please! Whether the picture was supposed to be a joke or an insult, it did make me laugh, and that’s welcome at the minute to keep spirits high Oh....... Whilst not blind to his faults, particularly in how he rated his own understanding of football, I would still say that we would not be in the position we are now if Lowe had stayed here uninterrupted. We could well have been in League 1 but certainly NOT in Administration. (Lights blue touch paper, stands back)

We could well have been in League 1 but certainly NOT in Administration. (Lights blue touch paper, stands back) I think you are probably right. I don't think Lowe would have let wage costs get out of control in the summer after the parachute payments finished. Having said that the lack of investment, dwindling crowds and negativity that would have come with himi being in charge would probably have sent us close to admin and relegation anyway. Mole Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 "Administration will be good" It will eventually be viewed as the best thing that couldv'e happened to us. Without it we'd have continued to die a slow and painful death until Lowe and Wilde. It was inevitable it was going to happen sooner or later so the fact it's now done and almost dusted means it'll soon be out of the way. The downward curve has bottomed out and the ingredients will soon be in place for a spike.

Whoever now takes us on will have real problems getting decent players to join us, let alone managers.Going into administration is/has been a disaster for everyone except Begbies Taylor (although they may look fairlty stupid if we do go down the pan) and any of the players sold. Katalinic Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 "If we score another one we will go above Wolves" My Dad on November 19th 2005 at approximately 4.30pm and with Southampton leading Leeds 3-0 at SMS. We all know what happened next. Honourable mention also to him for "Don't let Beattie take it, he can't shoot" as he steps up to take a free-kick against Chelsea in last minute at The Dell. It flew into the top corner.

RonManager Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 I started going in 68 Leeds home evening game. 27.04.68 - Wolves at home 1-1. for some stupid reason I decided to support Wolves. I made a 'WOLVES' placard on cardboard (no merchandising then - DIY) and safety pinned it to my anorak. It rained on the way into Winchester Station and dissolved. By the end of the match I was Saints through and through!
Weston Super Saint Posted 1 July, 2009 Share Posted 1 July, 2009 exactly and so it is madness to have wanted us to start there by wishing to go into administration. Most people were wishing us to go into admin about Xmas last season, thus avoiding the -10 and starting league 1 with a fair crack at the whip. Sensible people could see that the team / squad / manager were not good enough to keep us up
