NickG Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 (edited) Solent said the report in the Daily Mail is not quite correct. They went onto say that they (Sports editor of Solent) have personally spoken to the Swiss Group. The Swiss Group is backed by a billionaire member of the Swiss Liebherr family, however it is not the brother and sister who head the international conglomerate. Solent stated this is still very good news. They have made good progress but there are still a few issues to be sorted out. Solent were questioning why, with a member of the world famous and wealthy Liebherr family trying to buy the club, did Pinnacle get exclusivity. dubai_phil Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 That could actually be VERY good news. Let's face it, if it is a family member they may not be so hands on with running the successful company and may well be simply a rich person with more wealth than sense and a lot of time on their hands.. straw graps
Matthew Le God Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 There is a Hans Liebherr JNR who is not connected to the company I think. But maybe his dad left him a big fortune to play with while his brother and sister run the company.
NickG Posted 6 July, 2009 Author Share Posted 6 July, 2009 Right, finished on Solent, tried to type live as they were reporting. The Solent sports editor has spoken personally with the Swiss, it is not the brother and sister who head the group, nor the company as a whole (as reported in mail) but a rich member of the family. It is still very good news. It is not done deal as few issues still to be sorted out. They are questioning why Pinnacle got close in comparison. Perhaps Mr Fry would like to explain? Yes SOG, I am also wondering how Pinnacle was considered the best deal, particularly for the creditors. Pinnacle could only have been the best deal if the funds were clearly there and of that there would appear to be doubt.

del boy Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 I think we can be clear about one thing - subject to confirmation something will be announced within the next day or several weeks leading to some outcome that will be either positive or negative in the medium to long term given the circumstances and subject to FL approval and one or two other things still being cleared up. btw, I am not ITK - some of the above is merely based on speculation... but with the evidence that is now out in the public domain I think we can now at last be quite certain

Colinjb Posted 6 July, 2009 Share Posted 6 July, 2009 I feel better about this then Pinnacle. No 'mystery' money man, no fancy yet ultimately meaningless communication with the fans, just reports that they are interested, loaded, and professional. Until it goes through I will still think it too good to be true.
