I've been convinced all along that we'd have been better off creating a new club from scratch as soon as we went into admin for the 3rd time in such a short time span - it's the only way we'll shake off the leeches once and for all. I go every week, home and away. Appy talks a good talk off the field, but we have been appalling on it ever since he came (minus a very few exceptions). We have been AWFUL this season and I cannot believe he thought we should have got something last night. I was so angry when I heard his interview- Deluded. We are paying McLeod 4k a week and the others the same. Every team we have played have had a wage budget below ours... Pretty much every other team has to bed players in... we look pathetic. Appy doesnt even make changes or talk from the sidelines... im beginning to have had enough [/TD]

This always makes me laugh. IF the FL had taken a stricter stance then the club would have gone out of existence long ago and the idiots down the M27 would be moaning about it.

the Ho comments are always a chuckle so well done on that, but the one that made me really laugh out loud was the fan that is worried that Cortese will try to pinch Appy off them! :lol:

And Appy's judgement has to be questioned when he looks around the league and applies for the only job that looks like more hassle than the one he has already.

Coventry is indeed a bigger club that portsmouth, still one deep in trouble, but not as deep as PFC ---hence my reversal of' frying pan' and 'fire'.

Lots of stuff on the web to the effect that Robins is about to be named manager there, but no confirmation that I can see, which does make you wonder. It would be a delicious extra little titbit in the PFC feast if Appleton were finally to walk out on them after all the loyalty talk

A question for our insolvency experts...

 

The administrator is appointed by the court with the sole purpose of finding the best financial outcome for the creditors. As such, does Birch have any discretion available to him or is he duty bound to simply pick the bid that offers the highest potential return for creditors?

 

In other words, even if he thinks the Trust bid puts the club in a better position in the long term (morally or orherwise) is he legally bound to ignore that if he thinks the creditors are likely to get more out of the likes of Portpin in the short to medium term?
