Pompey Takeover Saga

New north stand to be discussed at next board meeting which, with their delusions of grandeur will no doubt morph into a new ground discussion (ten whole thousand season tickets sold after all)?

LOL, just found a couple of Corp Ho classics saved on an old HD

"Argentine soccer legend Diego Maradona is offering to bring four international stars to newly owned Portsmouth, if the club appoints him as their global ambassador, his lawyer has claimed.

And in a further development, an advisor to new Pompey owner Sulaiman Al Fahim confirmed this morning that “discussions” have been held with Maradona’s cousin Remigio Maradona over a role for the former World Cup winner at the club.

Confidential emails sent by Maradona’s lawyer Angel Oscar Moyano claim the superstar is willing to act on behalf of Valencia striker David Villa and Barcelona hero Samuel Eto’o. The email also mentions his son-in-law Kun Aguero, who plays for Atletico Madrid and another Valencia striker, David Silva, as possible targets.

Diego Armando Maradona has players “personal“ commitment [sic] to enter into exclusive talks with Dr Sulaiman Al Fahim, writes Moyano."

Eto'o, Villa, Silva. Crap players or what? We'll be down this season for sure and in administration within a year. Yeah, looks like you guys were right all along. We've fuucking had it big style..........

Realistically? Extremely unlikely. However, who would have thought Pompey would have signed 5 current England internationals in the last three years?

Admit it, you all laughed your ****s off when the 'Sol Campbell to sign for Pompey' stories started surfacing a few years back. You laughed with a bit less certainty when the 'David James to sign for Pompey' story broke. By the time we'd signed Johnson, Muntari, Diarra, and Defoe you'd stopped laughing a long time earlier.

The point is if you pay someone enough money they'll come to you. So what if it doesn't last forever? We've had more fun in the last 7 years than you've had in the last 30.*

The bottom line is that despite the title of this thread, the takeover has NOT collapsed, Al Fahim has NOT failed the FPPT, we are NOT going down and we are NOT going into administration.*

You might as well lock this one down, because remember: "It's the hope that kills you".

One or two classics from Factless Allen in another mega one line paragraph extravaganza.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/hawks-salute-special-pompey-friendship-1-6840632

The Hawks have hailed their ‘special’ Pompey relationship as they prepare for the season’s traditional curtain raiser.

The fixture has established itself as a regular and popular event on the Blues’ calendar, attracting large attendances.

Nowadays the non-leaguers are allowed to keep all gate receipts from the annual encounter.

It represents a massive financial boost for the hosts, with this year’s prices of £15 for adults, £10 concessions and £5 for juniors including a free £3 programme.

‘There are so many ways the clubs try to work together and we have already seen that this week.

‘On Tuesday, Paul Cook’s side came down to train at Westleigh Park – and we were only to pleased to accommodate them

They needed a playing surface to use and with ours being the best it has ever been we readily agreed.

‘We offered our help when Pompey were in trouble, offering them our ground when it didn’t appear they would have one to play on.

‘What’s more, on Saturday we will be announcing further good news regarding co-operation between the two clubs.’

Those attending Saturday’s game are advised not to park on grass verges or in streets near the ground as they are liable to receive tickets.

More Tin Potteryness .... still sponging training facilities from Non League sides!!

Loving the Pompeynomics .... entry 15 quid (for a pre season kick about) includes a FREE 3 quid programme ..... or in the rest of the world 12 quid plus compulsory "Cortese" Tax of 3 quid.

So pompey don't have a pitch to train on? :scared:

No wonder all these elderly signings were so impressed when they saw the facilities...nothing to do with the length of contract or wages, it was the sight of Havant's pitch that lured them south.

That special relationship sounds like Havant giving their plucky neighbours help, not the other way round.

That'll be the training ground pitches that aren't ready for use yet: http://m.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-confident-fratton-pitch-is-on-course-1-6838206

Fortunately, no expense has been spared.

Those pitches were laid several weeks before their Fratton Park equivalent, with both dogged by the same drainage problems.

As a result, Cook has alternated taking his team to the Mountbatten Centre, HMS Temeraire, while yesterday they trained on the Hawks’ pitch at Westleigh Park.

They also recently spent six days in the Algarve – the majority of time out there spent using facilities at Vale do Lobo.

Pompey, though, continue to utilise the gym at Roko, in addition to spending Saturday morning working out at Bally’s Gym in Fratton.

Those pikeys are basically blagging their way around anywhere who will let them use their land for a day or two.

Southsea common next, then the beach. Maybe now is the time to bed in at Moneyfields.

I'd love it if Les gave them a call and offered our place for a couple of days whilst we were away.

They'd spend literally the whole time digging holes in the pitches and trying to find places to hide the thousands of unsold £5 Sondico shirts they've got left to place curses.

This is pretty great for a laugh. Some yank is one of their loyal shareholders and has visited the hallowed turf for the first time.

“I’m rarely, as my friends would tell you, lost for words like today, but I’m just so proud to be a small part of this club. Every part of Fratton Park is almost how I always imagined it to be.”

No sign of the new championship standard floodlights in that picture. Not even any sign of any work being done considering the whole works is being replaced right up to the point the electricity enters the stadium.

Are they waiting until the get into the championship before they install the championship standard floodlights?

The Spinnaker farce rolls on...

They have painted it blue, but they didn't have permission too. :scared:

It turns out the tower was built with a massive grant and any changes are now controlled by the lottery fund.

Part of the funding deal was that they have a say over sponsorship, and presumably will be wanting some of their money back...no one has told them about the Emirates gig, nor asked them - nor offered them a cut of the new money!

It's a funny old city that seems to have a unique take on monetary things.

I feel dirty after each visit but The Portsmyth News is just too good not to visit for a giggle or two!!

I really do believe that Factless Allen really maybe one of us on a wind up.

Todays little gem ahead of their big local derby match tomorrow. ........

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/cook-calls-for-start-of-pompey-winning-mentality-1-6842775

Pompey were granted use of Westleigh Park to train on earlier this week – a gesture appreciated by the League Two outfit.

The clubs possess a strong relationship and, since community ownership, the Hawks are these days allowed to keep all gate receipts.

An estimated crowd of 2,500 turned up last year, while the previous campaign 3,009 attended to boost the non-league club’s coffers.

And Cook is eager for the relationship to remain.

He added: The quality of their playing surface was frightening really, it is in fantastic condition

.... obviously the "compared to our cabbage patch at FP and our training ground" was edited out.

‘You have got to have relationships. Hopefully, once our training ground is up and running properly we will return the favour.

H&W officials will be grateful that their Reserves and u 10's team will have somewhere to practice soon.‘It is important that it’s not just take, take, take. It shouldn’t be like that.

We are a massive football club, everyone knows that, and if we can offer help to some of the smaller clubs around us then we will do it :mcinnes: and another :mcinnes: for good measure.

Want to know what other clubs in League Two think of the blue few? This is from a write-up of a 'meet the manager' session at AFC Wimbledon, regarding Matt Tubbs. NA is Neal Ardley, the manager, Bassey is Simon Bassey the assistant manager.

"As for Tubbs, we were ever going to lose him to one team, the one he signed for in January. It’s only 30 minutes for him there as opposed to over 2 hours travelling for us, and initially it was us and them after him – the latter the favourites... When we won at Fratton Park, and Tubbs showed his non-celebration, NA and Bassey were inbetween him as they walked off, and NA said “I wouldn’t want to play for that lot”…"

A number of the blue few are asking whether they are due a sell on fee for Begovic. I imagine, that if one existed, they would not be entitled to it in any case due to at least one administration falling in between the sale of Begovic and today.

They should keep quiet, they'll probably owe spurs another million quid or something equally as daft and suspicious as the last begovic transfer!

Comments (3)A Mini driver who smashed in to the back of a van in Cirencester was pleasuring herself with a sex toy, it was claimed this morning.

The woman, who was said to be in her 30s, was spotted on video holding a Rampant Rabbit-like sex toy and buttoning up her trousers after hitting the back of a stationary fish van.

She had been stuck in static traffic in the Gloucestershire town when her vehicle lurched forward in to the back of the M & J Seafood van in front.

But it was only when the firm's management went to check footage on their vehicle's rear camera that they realised what had happened.

Wow, that's a lot of skates creaming themselves about the team running along the promenade - doing it 'old skool' apparently.

I wonder, if they actually had decent training facilities with a decent training surface whether they would have to run along the beach? Perhaps the local goodwill has run out and no-one else will lend them a bit of grass to train on?

Hardly surprising when you realise just how mad and frothing at the gills, just seeing a Royal Mail Van or any other red vehicle must make them, after the furore over The Spunknicker Tower!!

To be fair, the dopey degenerate denziens of that fat infested island swamp - should (and likely shall) celebrate this.

Discounting statistics for things like: "Places where Inhabitants F*ck the Most Fish"; "Citizens Most Likely to Destroy their own Town after Winning a Football Match"; "Places where Incest is considered the Normal Way of Life" - and of course, "Highest Number of Paedophiles Per Capita" -- it is highly likely that this will be the last time residents of that filthy sh*t-hole will ever get to see p*rtsmouth listed above Southampton in a table. ;)

Just let the poor c*nts enjoy their moment in the limelight. :p

It says something about your city, when moving to Syria is considered to offer a higher likelihood of enjoying a better way of life.

Most water dispersed in one go by a sitting MP?

If she was only "sitting" -- we could have avoided the lamentable South-Coast-wide, summer-long hosepipe ban, severe drought, and water-rationing that followed. :(

It's when she's performing an ungainly, extravagantly explosive belly-flop that everywhere South of London starts building arks. :D

Anyone seen Talk Solent TV which is cobbled together badly at Highbury?

I can only assume that one of their top trainees also produced that excuse for a video interview with Cook at pompey's new groundshare.
