Story..

"If you want to know where the money has gone, look at the accounts. It's no secret

Well we could but you don't appear to have filed any for a while. I assume the ongoing fine from companies house is included in the SoA?

plus includes the new snippet...

The South African consortium, spearheaded by
a sports orientated investor
, has lodged proof of finances with the lawyers and will, on Monday, lodge those proof of funds with the banks.

Some gems.

The sale was going to be done today. Now it's - yep 48 hours

Nice of him to tell us what we all worked out - THEY ARE INSOLVENT

So we now have a public admission of guilt. What do the FA & The PL intend to do about that?

And for that matter what about the DTI or whatever it is called these days - he has just admitted to a crime in that article.

See he is pandering to the fans with the "Why don't they leave us alone and go and pick on a team with bigger debts?". Did the interviewer not mention these other teams PAY THEIR BILLS!

How many of there "Highly prized assets" can they not at the moment sell and who will be out of contract so can walk away at the end of the season? Surely the book value of these players is now zero?

See he is pandering to the fans with the "Why don't they leave us alone and go and pick on a team with bigger debts?". Did the interviewer not mention these other teams PAY THEIR BILLS!

And not ONE comment about "The Community"

Not ONE comment about the small businesses (such as Terry the Builder) to whom they owe money

Not ONE simple acknowledgement of the pain they are inflicting

Everything is about Survival, nothing about their Corporate Social Responsibility, which is what you would expect from an operation that has been washing things (including it's hands) for years.

Oh and first comment The Supermarket would be worth a fortune.. Well guess what that is nothing to do with the club anymore - YOU GAVE THAT AWAY TO CHANRAI AT THE WEEKEND - or was that a fib as well?

Oh and the squad is worth millions - all those loanees and free transfers that is

That article really says the following.

"This charade has almost been played out to the end as it has been in the interests of the owners to liquidate this club as quickly as possible so that the land can be used for a major redevelopment.

By showing the council that every possible avenue was explored to save the club they will now understand and accept the buidling of a squash court and gym for the residents of the new development

This was required, because under the terms of the Council Mandate, once the club ceases to exist the land the stadium stood on can be used for a Leisure development that earns us money as property developers.

With the club gone the property is worth far far more than the prospective paper losses on the value of the shares"

So long suckers will be the epitaph

Al Fahim resigns and gives his 10% shareholding to the Portsmouth Trust. On SSN now...

What a generous man, what a wonderful gift.

Remind me again how much money those shares cost him?

10% of 100% which cost him One Pound

Marvellous so he just gave the Trust a 10 pence donation to the cause

Al Fahim grabs the last lifejacket and sprints off the deck with banknotes fluttering out of his rucksack?

Too late to avoid charges methinks.

As they appear to have lost their homeground are they now the only Prem team classed as part of the travelling community?

So it the trust now own 10% of the club I assume they also own 10% of the debt?

Don't know. But surely the new South African owners will now be negotiating with their supporter's trust if they want 100% control of the club.

As a minority shareholder I guess it gives the trust little power but can the trust insist on seeing the books, SoA or the details of the hot, hot, hot takeover?

How about this site encouraging Saints fans to join the Pompey Trust? At a fiver a go, it is a real chance to influence the direction of their club and who knows? With our support, we could outnumber their fans...

Website here.

Do we want to take on their debt?

I'd love it if the Pompey Trust were sunk by this along with the club. That would sure scupper their attempts to establish a non-league phoenix.... :)

Each team has to pay a tenner to enter.

All entrance money distributed as prize money

So , 10 teams enter, that will be £70 to the winner and £10 to second place.

Surely if it's a Pompey quiz night, it'll be a tenner a team, £100 for the winner, £70 for second place and £10 back for everyone else :D

I would'nt bank on the prize money being paid TBH..

I rather think the winning team will have to join the list of creditors alongside HMRC

More classics from Storrie

''"The assets of this club are its players, their value in the transfer market, and there are some players whom we would value very highly. There is then the potential for 100,000 square foot of supermarket. You can imagine what that would be worth."''

Plus a quick look sees that Tesco , Asda and Sainsburys already have stores in the area.

The Al-Fahim shares - update

Monday, 22 February 2010 10:15 Matt Partridge .The Pompey Supporters’ Trust working committee met with Suleiman Al Fahim at the end of January to discuss the possibility of Mr Fahim donating his 10% share in Portsmouth Football Club to the Trust. The working committee agreed that the offer had been made in good faith, but due to the circumstances of the Club we required financial and legal advice before we’d be in a position to comment further.

No formal offer has yet been made to the trust, but appreciating the need for urgency in the current dire situation, the Trust and it's advisors will deal with any formal offer immediately after it's been recieved.

A reccomendation based on financial and legal advice will be put to the Pompey Trusts members, who ultimately approve any decisions of this scale.

Come to think of it you don't mention Waitrose. But I'm guessing you're thinking that perhaps it isn't an area brimming with Waitrose target customers?
