ottery st mary Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 Sorry but I know nothing about him I am quietly confident that Alan Pardew knows Dean Wilkins very well and that is all you and ottery need to know at this stage...NEXT a few astute signings.:smt060
Chez Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 Yes - unlucky apparently to lose his job to Adams yep. Hands firmly tied by financial constraints. Played the youth team and didn't do badly.

Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 (edited) Well respected at the Albion, according to my Seagull mates. Apparently took them to 7th, with no real funds, and was rewarded, at the end of the season, with "would you like to return to being a coach while we bring Micky Adams back?". Funnily enough, said "no". Edited 31 July, 2009 by Ivan Katalinic's 'tache

Wes Tender Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 Will be useful to have the Chelsea connection with brother Butch. I'm imagining him picking up the phone and getting us some of their youngsters on loan.
rallyboy Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 had a chat with him at St Marys only three/four months ago when he was down for an evening game so I know he witnessed the dutch experiment close-up, he will seen our players and how they behaved last season, and should be a good appointment. (if he can get us some Chelsea loanees nice and cheap too that would be great!)
Saint_Ash Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 Seems decent. How many loanees did he get in for Brighton from Chelsea? In none then I don't see why he'll get any in for here. Would be nice though.

Matthew Le God Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 How many loanees did he get in for Brighton from Chelsea? In none then I don't see why he'll get any in for here. Brighton probably didn't have the money to pay the loan fees of Chelsea players that Mr Liebherr may now be able to.
Chez Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 maybe we will raid Brighton, if so he's an idea of who's who: http://www.thefootballforum.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=171966

spank_182 Posted 31 July, 2009 Share Posted 31 July, 2009 Fair play getting in Wilkins. Seemed like he was doing well with Brighton. Would be especially useful if he can use some of his links... Bring in Virgo - plays centre back and striker - our two most desperately needed positions!! Going a bit off topic - what happened to the days of players who played both - Dion Dublin and Chris Sutton(?) I seem to remember played both? Have Saints had anyone the last few years who's filled that role?
