Cannot see where the next win is coming from, I think the best we can hope for is a draw.

I think i might just kill myself. Its all over you are right, we haven't won any of our first 3 games..... End it all...

Brentford are unbeaten in the league. They won away at Carlisle 1-3 on the opening day; drew 0-0 home to Brighton; and beat Norwich 2-1 at home the other night.

We (up 'til now) have been pretty pizz-poor (to put it mildly) in our last 2 games away from SMS. However - we're at home tomorrow - and therefore we should have a bit more about us - especially with the new lads if they play. I'm hoping they will inject a bit more know-how/bottle into the side than we've seen of late. I don't expect many goals - but I do expect Rickie Lambert to score the only goal of the game.

Danger is we underestimate Brentford having been promoted from league 2 last season. Quick look at the stats and they had the best away record in L2 last season and last week had an impressive 3-1 away to Carlisle who were no mugs in this league last season and of course a bit of a hike for Brentford.

Must admit initially I thought a relatively straightforward victory for Saints and a march onto -6pts. Now though having looked at it in a bit more detail I would be very happy with a 1-1 draw minus the Davis heroics this time to keep us in the game.

I still believe it will take Pardew 6 -8 league games to get us playing well together and to get clear in his own mind what his best team is. With time still on our side and the huge disadvantages we are overcoming a draw at this stage will be a good result and a display that shows somes promise.

If Hammond plays, I think it could be a 2-1 win.

Is he here yet? Why has there been no photo of him with AP and his new no. 14 shirt?

He's here, see brief interview at SMS on The Echo website: http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4553168.Saints_complete_Hammond_signing/

Not into score predictions, but I'll have a go at predicting the starting line-up:

Davis

Murty, Thomas, Trotman, Harding

Mellis, Schneiderlin, Hammond, Lallana

Lambert Saganowski

My feeling is that Pardew is desparate to get a first win and will put out the strongest team he can, even though the new players will not have had long with the squad.

No, I don't think he wants a first win and will therefore but out his weakest team possible. Professorial skills to the fore again, eh?

Saints 0 - 1 Brentford...........its still too early to expect a victory........the pieces are beginning to come together, but the team itself still has too many weak areas.........another fortnight on the training pitch and perhaps there may be a semblance of a side that can start to win a few points........... don't think we are there yet and the oppositions know it too
