Lallana Song Thread

Oldies may prefer this version and it's slower to match the Notham mentalists

Yes, the Bananarama version is the right speed, but the other version gives a good idea how it would sound sung by the masses.

So the "Oh Lallana, Lallana, Lallana" part is tailor made. What do we sing after that? Goodbye, meaning goodbye, you're beaten, or do we sing something else?

We used to sing this reglarly in the early 70s after the original by Steam was popular in 1969. The words were very original, Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, Southampton, repeat ad nauseum

I guess an updated version would be good, and Lallana scans well. On the other had we could just use the old words again for the team which is more important to me.

I'm finding it difficult to get Southampton to scan at the end of the original version, VS. "The Saints" works well enough though as it's only two syllables (like Goodbye) instead of three. Perhaps we could add "he's scored" instead of goodbye for Lallana's version..

Southampton does fit and it sounds good, I like it.

The Smurf chorus has surely got to be considered!!! Click on the link below and forward to 53 seconds in and play until 1 minute 14 seconds.

Personally I think that would be hilarious!

that would be great, listen from about 35 seconds... can anyone here edit that vid and put the "N" in where appropriate?

It always used to work, perhaps you just sing strangely :) The original song makes "goodbye" into 3 syllables, good-bye-ee sort of thing. Lallana also has 3 syllables
