scott_saints Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 ....was the kid running on to the pitch. (As said in his post match interview) FAO: The people who want him banned and taking it seriously- get a life. That is all xx

Saint_clark Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 Thought they should of let him stay with Waigo to be honest. There isn't enough of that "personal" feel in football these days, and celebrating a penalty win on the pitch with the players would have been one of the best experiences of his life IMO. niceandfriendly Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 A genuinely funny, heart warming moment which some people need to lighten up about. It was unfortunate timing, but the little fella obviously didn't understand that we hadn't won just yet! Bless him.

They can't really do that. As nice as it would have been it would set a precedent and in future we'd get pitch invasions every game and not just one little kid. He didn't have that much pace, it was the steward who looked very pedestrian that made him look quick.

I don't want him banned, I just want the little f'cker to stop doing it, it's happened loads recently. It's not 1975 FFS.

JustMike Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 maybe it was funny but its also illegal to do it and "fans" could face a ban, bit stupid of that kids parents to allow it really, what wasnt funny was the idiots who thought they would give it a go afterwards

Carlos Fandango Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 I thought it was funny as ****. I loved it when Papa went and picked him up to rescue him from the stewards. Gave the nipper his shirt too. Nice one Papa!

I don't thnk that the pitch invasions of c. 1975 were perpetrated by spontaneous 8 year old boys. Someone should gently tell this young lad that what he did was lovely and demonstrated how a lot of us 'grown ups' felt, but we musn't do it because it's not really allowed. Just because the lad ran on the pitch doesn't make him a little f'cker. No more than your comment makes you a grumpy old curmudgeon.

Spades Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 iv been told he does it at a lot of away games aswell, so it isnt a one off! In which case he, or his parents should be banned from the stadium. As a one of it was a very heart warmig thing to see... however the rules are there to b followed and if he does it at other games then it was no accident. He was sent on by whoever he was with, and they should be punished for breaking the rules

Stattmeister Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 But did it put Antonio off, all of the hoo-ha? It didn't, but could've, cost us the game as the focus was changed. Also, another amusing "pitch invasion" at the end of the match, the kid ran the steward up and down again until he fell ar$e over tit.

Badger Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 For anyone at the match, how old would you estimate him to be ? Could have been well past his bedtime and a serious case of bad parenting.Call in Social Services blah,blah... Actually it sounds an honest and spontaneous bit of fun by a child and both Waigo and AP can take some credit for their response.
shurlock Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 The little blonde mopped boy who wears Stone Island and ran onto the pitch at Northampton and Walsall by any chance? As well as Northampton and Walsall, it also happened at Leyton O - might or might not be him. I've got no problem with sponanteous pitch-invasions, especially after releases of emotion, but if its the same kid, that sly little b@stard has everyone in his pocket with the look-at-me-im-so huggably-cute-I'll-have-you-banged-up-for-touching-a-minor immunity. If he wants to go on the pitch, at least have the balls to accept the consequences - if he outpaces the stewards, more benny hill than anything, fair play to the little squire but to rule out the time-honoured take-downs and deckings, that's not right!!! He was small enough for him to jump up into Waigos arms. It may have been "wrong", but the whole thing, with Waigo giving him his shirt, really seemed to fit in with the joyous atmosphere at the ground. I did think that the two stewards who took him off the pitch, (and this did happen right in front of us), were a bit heavy handed and he seemed to be crying as they carried him off. I think that this may have concerned Waigo which is why he went over and gave him his shirt.

I am getting very confused! There were two separate "kids". There was the little lad that ran up to Waigo, and a second bigger lad who ran on later and led the stewards a merry dance all around the pitch, before slipping up and allowing them to pile on top of him. He certainly deserves what ever he got as he deliberately provoked the stewards in a "chase me, chase me" manner, although I have to say that part of me thought that it was quite comical!! Wasn't there yesterday but went to Walsall and Northampton and the youngest kid there -and several invaded the pitch- couldn't have been more than 6 or 7 (at Northampton, even went up to a player for a shirt). There were similar stories at Leyton O. Initially found it funny -well more surreal than funny- but its now a regular thing at away games and its totally deliberate not spontaneous and joyous. Badger Posted 16 December, 2009 Share Posted 16 December, 2009 If he is a habitual offender and has charged onto the pitch two or three times before as suggested then that does put it in a different context. If true, then the kid and parents should be on a warning as to future conduct.
