VectisSaint Posted 6 February, 2010 Share Posted 6 February, 2010 A pathetic comment from AP. All the other team has to do now when we are playing away, is to tell their groundsman to over-water the pitch, FFS. Of FFS Alps, don't you think thats what they've been doing already? Its bloody obvious, we have a billard table of a pitch, and some of the other clubs have cabbage patches, they know we can't play our game on them. Its been like that with teams for years. Its not some blinding light that has appeared to day because AP has said it. Its just like we used to make it hard for opponents at the Dell. You really need to get over your fixaton with AP, its beginning to eat you up like you let Burley do to you as well (though that was justified to a large extent because he was ****). SNSUN Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 Go through to the sixth round of the FA Cup or going through to the Final of the JPT would be a tough choice. Wembley or beating the Skates? One win in either game would be soul destroying for Saints fans, the only outlook can be two victories this week. We can do it, even without the new boys. Let's finish the job on Tuesday and then kick the Skates while they're down on Saturday. Pardew would be a fricking hero if we win both games. Rory Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 It is disappointing not to come away with a win but Exeter are a good side at home. I was at St James' Park last season when we were a crap team in the Championship and they were a decent League 2 side. We were AWFUL and should have lost but the quality of McGoldrick and John got us through it. I am still going with the "5 year plan" and not getting carried away. There was ZERO chance we were going up this year and I guarantee that most people who post on here would have been happy with a mid-table finish at the start of the season, considering our predicament. Typical fickle football fan syndrome kicks in after a few good results, which is why I cannot stand a lot of Saints fans. Yes, we have spent a lot of money but you cannot get a completely different team to gel straight away. What fills me with confidence is that we will completely p*ss over this league next season with the players we have and I am sure more will be brought in over the summer. We will be an attractive outfit for most players in the Championship/League One, I would have thought, and I can see some big names coming to us to go along with the likes of Fonte, Lambert, Barnard, Davis, Lallana,Schneiderlin etc. WE will get promoted next season with Pardew at the helm. Just be patient.

Just because we've spent £3m doesn't mean we should be rolling teams over every week. People seem to have forgotten last summer - I'm still thankfull to have a football to support! Next season I (and I think most saints fans) will expect more but this season I'm happy just going with the flow. Why the f#ck mention August? In August we had no team and had had no pre season. We are now in February and after a bloody good run have started going backwards. In the approach to the transfer window the majority of people wanted , as I recollect, a strong midfield general/holding player, a CB and a decent RB. We have been given a CB and a good one. The RB Otsemobor has not yet shown that he is better than James/Thomas. Seaborne has not yet shown that he is better than Perry/Jaidi. Barnard has looked like a fish out of water. What a few of us would like to know is why so many changes at once. Plain and simple. A better midfielder even if it meant spending more on wages for him would have done us a hell of a lot better. AIMHO. I have already been called a moron and a total c#ck and other choice words so do your worst.

yorkie Posted 7 February, 2010 Share Posted 7 February, 2010 For any of the squad who visit these pages - please be aware that you wear the colours of our proud football club and City - even if you were not born there you have a duty. We have had too many players in the last few years who weren't up for it - but to date you have shown real mettle when it has been called for. The chance to play at Wembley could be used as an excuse for the off par performance yesterday but come Tuesday night the crowd will expect. A professional job on the Dons please - full concentration for 96 minutes. Take your chances and play as if you very lives depended upon a win. Now Saturday - did you seee the deflated bodies trudging off the pitch yesterday? Did you see defeat in their eyes? They are superior footballers, so they say! We have home advantage, we have 11-hungry players, we have 26,000 fans willing the ball into their net plus keeping it out of ours. There is only one result we want - and that is a 6th round tie. History says we have never lost a Cup tie to them at SMS a proud record - please make sure it is still intact after the game. Look at it as a springboard for the final push - one game at a time... Southampton is my spiritual home although I now reside in Yorkshire - believe me the drive home on Tuesday night and Saturday afternoon will be all the better with wins.
