Lallana's Knee

Saint Charlie

Recommended Posts

AP says not looking good and need to get it sorted this week which tells me they cant put off operation any longer. rather get sorted now then for him to have a long term problem. the boy is too good of a footballer to have his career ruined by injury.

A lot of careers have been ruined by playing on using pain killer injections.

He walked off barely limping according to Solent, its an underlying problem, hopefully they can sort it with minimal loss, a month would be ok I guess. Lets see who our new winger is, might be thrust into the action sooner.

I hope AP is talking so negative about this injury so that he can convince NC to make an unplanned dip into the transfer market, rather than Lallana really being so injured.

Pardew knew you wouldn't be happy after a 4-0 away win, so he's given you something to moan about. That's the kind of guy he is. Not that you appreciate it.

OK, now you have got that out of your system, is there a sensible explanation that I am missing ? I am just wondering if there is some sort of risk in operating.

Only teasing alpy! It is well known that Adam's leg is knackered. Apparently Pardew is waiting to find a midfielder with the same type of legs as Lallana - same size and strength, same feet, same colour etc so that he can transplant the new players leg onto Adams body. I heard that Pardew hadn't seen any videos of Guly and didn't realise he is black, so it's back to square one.

From what I've read (can't remember where), they couldn't diagnose exactly what was wrong with Lallana's knee, so were hoping it would clear up with playing time.

Theres no point going under the knife if you don't know what to slice up.

On the other hand, hoping for an ailment of unknown origin to clear sounds somewhat unscientific in its approach....

My mother-in-law has been having physio for the last 6 months for a shoulder problem. She fell down last week and bruised her arm - but corrected the shoulder problem. Nature works in mysterious ways.

According to AP on the OS article, Lallana has been having trouble with this "all year"

Why oh why did he not go under the knife back after the Southend game ?

I think all year means all season, not the calendar year. It started in preseason.

AP out.

How dare he accept Medical Opinion and see if it settles down.

Should have chopped the damned thing out and got a new one fitted instead of letting AL go off on holiday.

Disgraceful behaviour compounded by the fact that he didn't send any DNA to that Lab in Scotland to clone him OR sign Beckham and 3 other back up players as cover

I totally agree it is a shame that we have professional people involved in all aspects of the club instead of some of whingeing posters with little knowledge of anything

I said I would not post knowledge I had but on this occassion to prevent speculation:

Adam has been suffering a knee nuisance since pre season. When it did not settle before the season started he was referred to a specialist in London. No reason for the problem was apparent without surgery. He would have been out for about 4 weeks following if nothing found and an estimated 6 weeks if repair necessary.

The Specialist recommendation to Adam and the club was to play and see what happened as it might clear itself. The Specialist said if he broke down he would have him in for a further diagnosis and possible surgery. Adam and the club acted on this advice.

Let us see what develops. The club are not to blame for the timing. Pardew is not to blame for the timing. Adam is not to blame for the timing.

Cheers for the clarification of the time and the medical advice. Suppose its easy to advocate early surgery in hindsight.

Thanks Ron, Professional advice followed.

Next anti-Saints/Management/Players/Tactics Bandwagon will be along in a moment. We request posters not to panic or reach for extra doses of medication

I think you are laying the sarcasm on a bit thick now. One good win does not a promotion make. Yesterday still has to be built upon.

we already did, why do you think Guly is here, anyway Dickson did a good job yesterday.

Makes you wonder if he has fully recovered from the pre-season injury that helped fuel the debate about him leaving the club.

It will be a test without him but if we are good enough to win it then we should expect to be able to cope with the inevitable absences during the season of Lallana and Schneiderlin through injury or red cards

JUst as the two previous league games have been built on Alpy. It is an ongoing process as I am sure you realise. Pardew will know that just as we weren't the worst team in the league after the first two games we are not the best now. There is a long lomg way to go and that is why the threads slagging off Pardew and talking about ddom and gloom after TWO league matches were way too previous. As Pardew rightly says, lets see where we are after 10 league matches before we start to judge the seasons progress.

An ongoing process it is; just some of us think that it could have started a couple of weeks earlier if the team had had a decent pre-season plan.

I think we should all usefully use the Bank Holiday to organise Prayer Vigils and Meditations for the resurrection of Adam's knee ...without which all may be lost ...and we will have to listen to more rants from the AP / NC knockers for the rest of eternity

Alternatively, we can all just put some trust in the club's medical advice and wait for Adam to be back ...keener and meaner ...after proper treatment

But that would take perspective and the ability to take a long term view so looks like we will just have to put up with them.
