Fair Play Dean - Now Your Time Nicola

I just heard Dean Wilkins interview on Solent. I wasn't at the match so not going to judge his thoughts on how we played (He thought we played well) but impressed he came out and took it on the chin, didn't dodge the questions and was upfront and honest.

Now it's your turn Nicola, you are the Chief Exe and your business is in trouble. Nothing that can't be repaired, but it's time to come out and talk to your customers. Don't hide behind the web site; Radio Solent, South Today whatever, lets have it. You have created this situation and you need to explain your reasoning. It might be completely justified, but doubt and confusion lead to division and failure - We've been there before and there's no winners.

I'd love to see Cortese come out and tell us his reasons for sacking Pardew, because at the minute I can't work out why he has decided to do it.

There may be some very good reasons behind the move, and if that's the case, then I'm sure the majority of fans would understand the decision and come to accept it a lot easier if they knew.

But the fans can only judge the decision based on what we know. So what DO we know exactly? In truth, very little, but we're all aware of the work Pardew has done, and how he has built a squad which should be more than capable of getting out of this division IMO. We know that Pardew provided us with our most enjoyable and successful season in a long while, and I don't think anyone can deny that we've been playing decent football of late and that the future has looked very bright.

Now, with all that in mind, sacking AP 3 games into the season seems baffling. An explanation of sorts from Cortese would go a long way to reassuring the fans and it'd stick to the 'transparency' policy with the fans that was promised soon after Markus Liebherr completed his takeover.

Its a typical case of very little factual information from source which encourages wild and inaccurate rumours to fill the vacuum, and this will continue until the media and customers are spoken to and given a semblance of factual information.

All very odd really

Does not and will not say a thing until a new manager has been taken on. It has been less than 24 hours, and I want news just as much as the next man. he does not have to explain anything to anyone about his actions.

Your right he doesn't have to do anything. But any other company going through this amount of change, unrest and uncertainty, would have the CEO out on the charm offensive or at the very least, trying to appease the customer base.

Cortese has a lot of explaining to do. Best he keeps his ****ing pie hole closed and gets us a top-flight manager in before the colchester game. Don't **** with our club Cortese boy. Get it sorted.

on twitter......

solentsport #Saintsfc keeper Kelvin Davis said to written press "i've never been at a club where everyone likes the manager"... Response to unrest talk

That may be true, but players very rarely move to club without having respect for, and liking the manager.

As nearly all the squad were bought in by Pardew in the last year, you can safely say the majority of the players liked him.

Forget it!... it won't happen. Cortese's management training hasn't taught him to do that sort of thing.

Leaders in any branch of work need authority. In banking ..it's obedience and following instructions. Footballers respond best by showing respect for the manager..it's not the same thing.

Cortese sacking of Pardew after a 4-0 away win will go down in the Guiness Book of Records as the most unlikely sacking in football history. This action resembles a script from a Martin Scorcese film more than a directive from Nicola Cortese!

For whatever reason Cortese has obviously been waiting for a moment to sack Pardew..(and the week after winning the JPT wasn't appropriate)..but even more damning is the fact that he didn't have plans for a new man in place by lunchtime on Monday.

Even if he were right to sack AP, and even if things do " come out in the wash " his actions in the next few days will show how much of a " Saints fan" he is, or if he has " taken up the robe of RL" .

AP successor had better have a good dressing room style and a thick skin if he is to succeed this season. The media suggestion of Paul Hart is almost worse than the sacking of AP !..Here is a man who saw over the demise of our near neighbours and himself looks set to replay the role of " the ghost of Harry past ". Merely being an ex-Pom**y manager is already a yellow card in the eyes of many fans..and a few bad results at the start only serve to make him a " dead man walking" .

If PH chooses to sign some of the deadbeats from his former Pompey days..that will only rub more salt in the wound.

I don't know what Marcus Liebherr had in mind for this season, but he surely must be turning in his grave (said with all due respect for a wonderful benefactor) ..to see the outcome in such a short time.

I've been a Saints fan for 51 years, Nicola Cortese.. I only hope that you find the right formula for success now... because L2 is a very dismal place.

Just a thought, but I wonder what peoples reactions would be if Pardew had still been in charge tonight, and the same result ( 0-3 ) would have occured. Would we still be saying Cortese was a p***k then.

JUst a thought, but do you think we would have lost 3-0 if Pardew was still here?

Can't of been that honest if he actually thought we played well !!

Absolutely. My feelings are that Mr Wilkins is still at Saints because he didn't offer to follow AP out the door and NC therefore gave him the job of holding things together - i.e. he is in NC's pocket. The story about a Martin is another indication. The start handed to Guly is another. Case closed.

The first thing NC should do is give us all our money back for last nights game, then he needs to start telling us whats going on at our club,

Cortese did cost us last nights game. I can only hope he can pay us back by recruiting the right manager very quickly.

Seriously think they should re refunding everyones tickets from last night. Cortese himself must see how much we as fans were raped last night.

I agree, Cortese should be open and honest about why Pardew was sacked and what will happen next.

I still feel that the Pardew sacking was decided some time ago

So far, from a "Business" angle, everything Cortese has done (good or bad) has been 100% Professional

But the big IF is this

If Pardew's sacking was as a result of an argument between Pardew and Cortese over Antonio, and Cortese did it right there and then, then that was a completely UN professional decision

So, if Cortese has got rid of Pardew, without having someone lined up already, then in my book, he is an idiot

IMHO, his Five Year Plan is in tatters. I think that this is the first sign of Cortese paving the way for his own exit, without any guarentees of a Buyer on the horizon

THE WHEELS HAVE COME OFF BIG TIME

there speaks the voice of reason? Ever thought that AP could have been complicit in his own dismissal?

Nice idea, and it would go someway towards appeasing the unrest that is happening at the moment. In reality though this is unlikely to happen as I am sure there is a confidentiality agreement of some sort, also a statement from Cortese is likely to raise more questions from fans and will never satisfy those fans who supported AP.

Think about every other managerial removal - there is rarely full public disclosure of the facts behind the decision.
