Cortese fires only Red Indian at SMS? So he's a racist as well as everything else. Well I never...

Has it occured to anyone that the scout may have ****e and that he has been relieved of duties just like you or I would be if we were doing a **** poor job?

Just because it is a scout does not mean they are untouchable.

I think leftback is the only one that is really bothered.

What with his ever growing stick and a Cortese to beat 'n'all

I've arrived at the situation whereby I read the title, thought to myself what the hell has happened now, then noticed who the contributor was. Then my reaction was to wonder what new gripe had surfaced to fuel leftback's spite and bile. And then it was no further surprise to find that smears has somehow concluded that blame must be laid at Cortese's door, as he is the Devil incarnate.

So having read the apparent reason behind the thread and the lack of substance to substantiate it, pardon me if I am totally underwhelmed by the whole affair.

Whatever did happen at chorleys rabble rousing speech at the Northam club after Pardews sacking?

Did it even take place?

There is an element that I really believe want Saints to do badly on the pitch so that they can pursue their agendas.

Got shouted down and they left after a couple of minutes!

What has happened? An attempt to undermine Cortese's position, based on no evidence. I think it's called 'fanning the flames'.

To "fan the flames" you need flames to fan. In this instance I think the only flames are in the figment of the imagination of someone whom I am presuming has in some way been wronged (whether actually or imagined) by Mr NC.

For those that have doubted Leftback before, here is the perfect test and probably news that will be confirmed (I have no idea if he is right or not) in the next 10 days or so.

I stand by my original opinion, he is as close or closer to the action then anyone else on this board.

Cortese is his own man and doesn't take any **** (Regardless of whether he is right or wrong) from anyone - I think we can all agree on that.

There are many stories on here that paint him (Cortese) in a bad light and many more that haven't even made this message board, but however unpalatable (Or in some cases bizarre) his actions or decisions may have been, i can't help thinking, that maybe, just maybe he is exactly what this club needs right now.... A head strong, bullish, **** the rest of the world type personality, where winning is the only thing that counts and two fingers in the air to anybody that trys to stand in the way.

So from someone that thought the removal of the installment plan was an insult to the fans, that the car parking was just a joke, the ticket tax was pure exploitation and getting rid of Pardew was plain stupid. I strangely find myself defending him and thinking we will be just fine under his tenure. We might lose a few friends in football along the way, we may even lose some fans, but the guy is here to win and that's got to be our first priority.

I would agree with that conclusion and why Cortese is an overwhelming force for good for Saints. I have no problem with nigh on all the things he has done, but he could have been a bit more friendly in explaining in detail why the decisions were made. He deliberately keeps a very low profile and we hardly hear from him, his main weakness which creates all the rumours. That's just him and if that his is outstanding weakness, I will gladly accept that after all the others we have had displayed by previous incumbents.

The one thing I am unhappy with is the treatment of Nick Illingsworth, but I still have not bothered to find out what exactly happened there and any conclusion. Whatever has happened, Nick has had the good sense not to fuel the fire, which does him proud. What really impressed me about Cortese was the fact he kept Pardew on. He had a big disagreement with Pardew, addressed the situation and never let personal feelings come into the decision for what he thought was best for Saints. If he thought for one minute that he would be replacing Pardew that early in the season, he would have been gone before the end of last season.

I notice Leftback has not tried to pin this one on Cortese with his continual campaign against Les Reed, others arrive to fill that vacuum. I can understand some of the points Leftback has against Reed, but am positive if he is not performing for the club he will eventually be found out and Cortese will act in Saints best interest.
