Saint_Mabes Posted 9 May, 2011 Share Posted 9 May, 2011 Appologies for starting a new thread for this but i'm just quite curious. Anyone know what the youngish lad towards the back of block 34 did to upset so many people? Seemed to have quite a few having ago at him before very slowly being removed. Poor little boy behind us was balling his eyes out because of the commotion.

Mr Saints Posted 9 May, 2011 Share Posted 9 May, 2011 Was wondering the same myself, thought it may have been a Walsall fan but the lad's dad (I assume) returned to his seat a few rows in front of me and had a Saints shirt on?

Give it to Ron Posted 9 May, 2011 Share Posted 9 May, 2011 He was sat 2 rows behind me, he and his old man were totally bladdered and trying to pick fights. All he kept saying was fcking cnts ..we have been here all year where have you all been.....we have been to Millwall have you.... his language was apalling kept on and on and on. Funny thing is we are nearly all season ticket holders around there and it was hius first time he sat there. I think he was reported to stewards just in time as there were some rather angry blokes getting ready to sort him out.....his old man soon sat down and shut up when he saw was was going to happen. There are some good fans that sit around there and its normally a great laugh, loads of singing, banter and chat but this idiot pushed it a bit far. Rebel Posted 9 May, 2011 Share Posted 9 May, 2011 I wonder how many people who went on Saturday have been season ticket holders in the past - but wives, kids and finances got in the way of having one this season. I know of 3 myself - and a couple of others in the same boat who couldn't get tickets! I've only had a season ticket for 2 years but have been going to 80% or more of home games for over 15 years - and been going to Saints games for over 30 years! For me if your a Saint your a Saint - it's that simple!

Barry the Badger Posted 9 May, 2011 Share Posted 9 May, 2011 Frustrating that some people are too stupid to understand this... I bet there were very few at the game who've not been to a number already this season. I heard people talking about 10'000 fans coming out of the woodwork having not been all season blah blah. They haven't come out of nowhere, it's just those who normally make up the extras on top of ST holders have all come at once!

100%Red&White Posted 10 May, 2011 Share Posted 10 May, 2011 From what I saw nearby in Block 35, he just seemed to be swinging his arms about trying to get fans stood up and going again in (probably the only) one brief moment the atmosphere dropped off in that section. His (I believe) Dad quickly joined in but the alcohol appeared to get a grip of the lad and his mouth got a bit carried away. This upset the guy next to them who had a young kid with him and it quickly escalated from there and more got involved until they were pulled out. Shame, it picked up again after that and didn't stop!

I love to see the ground full and if a few of the floating fans get the bug and start to come back on a regular basis...... well that's all too the good. I won't be able to afford a season ticket next season, but will get to as many games as I can afford..... guess that makes me plastic.

" w*ank-athon at the same time. Ironically those block 42 super fans (not all block 42 just those dicks waving their s-tickets) this Saturday were shouting at people leaving early! I say ironic as against colchester I counted at least 12 of those same mongs who left at or before the 85th minute! Unfortunately the illiterate hypocrites probably can't answer on here as when they mash the keypad with their fists they don't know what it says! Yes I did mention it to a few of them on the day, that actually can't they see that having a full ground is better than it being half empty and that abusing your own fans is probably not the best way to encourage those people to come back again? They agreed they could see the point I was making and then sang a song about plastics! To be fair I think the majority of those idiots are sheep who would sing anything to be in with their mates and they don't think about what they are doing. Lord Duckhunter Posted 10 May, 2011 Share Posted 10 May, 2011 I had a Season Ticket for about 15 years before 4 children and shift work made it impossible to continue. I never ever thought people without Season Tickets were less of a fan than me, and I never worried about how many games people had attended. I dont know where all this obsession with Season Tickets, or how many games people go to has come from. In my eyes if you're a Saint you're a Saint. ****ing hell, it's been bad enough supporting the club for the past 5 years, without our own fans turning on each other. SFC Forever Posted 10 May, 2011 Share Posted 10 May, 2011 I had a season ticket until this season and will only ever be going to the odd game, more than likely, due to health and cost. Went this weekend and saw the sheer joy on many many faces as we finally turned the corner and began our climb back to the top. Have followed the club/team since 1952 when my dad took me to my first game. Many season ticket holders are, like I was, glad to be able to buy my tickets because it meant a large saving financially. How these same people can then laugh scornfully at someone like me who has only managed 5 games this season is beyond me. I always take one or two of my youngsters(3rd marriage) when I go and recently I have been taking the wife and youngest daughter as well. For me to go to a game I need to have £120-£150 for spending everytime I go. Being a pensioner that makes my life very difficult but I want my kids to enjoy our club as much as I have over the last 55 plus years. Seeing their happy faces this week and hearing them tell their so called big club supporters how great it had been was music to my ears. For me if we can fill/nearly fill our ground with a lot of walk up fans boosting the takings it has to be for the betterment of all and sundry. Chez Posted 10 May, 2011 Share Posted 10 May, 2011 love seeing the ground full. So everyone is more than welcome in my book even if its just for one game a season. Boy was it depressing in those dark days when a couple of midweek games in the Championship saw us get around 13k. I think it was Wolves (might be wrong) that was particularly cold and no one was there. Hopefully we can keep increasing home attendances next season. Nothing worse than hearing the "here, there, every ****ign where empty seats" song.
