ExSt Peter Saint Posted 29 May, 2011 Share Posted 29 May, 2011 There are rumours about CMS of Peterborough coming to us, but what about any Huddersfield players? Now they're stuck in the third tier, do they have players worth looking at for the next league up and with the potential to go further? Solid unit, or anyone worth snatching? Hatch Posted 29 May, 2011 Share Posted 29 May, 2011 no, we need players of premier standard, not good L1 players.

Saint Charlie Posted 29 May, 2011 Share Posted 29 May, 2011 I know he isn't owned by Hudds but what about Danny Ward - looks like a good young player.
saintscottofthenortham Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Peter Clarke alongisde Fonte would be immense. I hate that c*nt. Made me smile seeing that c*nt boo like a baby after the game today. Saying that, I'd probably love him if he was in our shirt.

Badger Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Pilkington should be a priority even ahead of CMS in my view ,younger and with greater potential. But with his current injury its unlikely that we'd be able to sign him due to medicals and arranging insurance on the player as I understand it. Smithies is certainly another with potential but he has been out of their team quite often this season, dropped or injured ? Clarke would be a no from me. Reading their forum last night and there seemed to be a regular comment on him that L1 was probably his standard, infact one poster even suggested his aggression/enthusiasm often masked over his ability in the eyes of many of their fans ( rather as Prutton did with us). SuperSAINT Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Wouldn't argue with the already mentioned trio of Smithies, Clarke or Pilkington. Pilkington is quality, and one of the very few two-footed players around. He must be out of action for a long time with his injury though... Not to mention Huddersfield aren't exactly short of cash. CWD Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Roberts is very underrated in my opinion. He had by far the best set piece delivery in the league last year. We should throw money at them for Pilkington. Would be a quality addition.

Cestrian Saint Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 CMS will go to Birmingham, west ham, Norwich or QPR Couldn't agree more. I hear that Shane Long from Reading is off to Everton if Reading don't go up. Also very strong rumours that Owen is off to Everton.

Turkish Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Clarke Pilkington Rhodes I wanted Hudderfield to win but i just remembered after the game the up there when i was on the train back to Leeds and some know it all mug who i nearly sparked out giving it large. I thought i'd be friendly and said to him i thought they'd played well today and looked a good side and he went off on one about what a great team Hudderfield are, much better than us, they are going to win the league, Barnard is getting sent down etc etc. Shame the cameras didn't show him. Clown.
Chez Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Pilkington, but there will be loads of clubs thinking the same.
Crab Lungs Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Roberts is very underrated in my opinion. He had by far the best set piece delivery in the league last year. Said it about 3 years ago. Said it every year since. Said it in anger over the past 2 weeks. Saying it again now. Gary F(((KING Roberts! Stop masturbating over Pilkington. Colbury Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Agree re. Pilkington. Danny Ward is also class. Boltons player but I'd be happy with either of them 2.
Saints foreva Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 While I don't doubt that there is money to spend, I highly doubt the club will be willing to pay the big money Huddersfield would be looking for when it comes to the likes of Roberts, Pilkington, Smithies and Rhodes. Rory Posted 30 May, 2011 Share Posted 30 May, 2011 Gary Roberts is ok, but not in the calibre we should be looking at. He was pretty good at Accrington but evapourated in the Championship with Ipswich.
