Reading issue fans with chant poster...

My cousin's husband (who is an Arsenal fan) suddenly started to take note of Reading's fixtures at the end of last season....he actually went to their game against Palace (2-2 I believe) which he hasn't done for the best part of 6 years, and hardly ever goes to watch football or even follows fixtures of his supposed club.

I also know a friends mum who last time Reading were in the Prem bought a season ticket, and then as soon as they went down she hasn't been since.

This just sums up the bandwagon fans Reading attracts.

People that just like watching top flight football you mean? Whatever next? People that sit glued to the 100m Olympics final who haven't set foot in an athletics stadium for 25 years? ;-)

I have no problem with human beings picking and choosing what form of entertainment they choose to watch and when.

I still find it unbelievable that a town that hosts one of the biggest, and most famous music festivals, fails to produce any level of noise at their home football matches.

The club are an embarrassment, going along with what previous posters have said, I went to school in Reading, and my last year was the year that they romped to the championship title. My year was full of Manure, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea etc fans, with a few Reading fans, but at xmas (when reading were like 20 points clear) they all suddenly became Reading fans. I found it hilarious.

The fact that the majority of people in Reading don't support the team shows you exactly what type of club they are.

lets be honest, if u dont know wot the lyrics are it could sound like anything, ppl even do it for real songs. I genuinely know someone who thought the full Monty song was 'i believe in milkco' by Hot Chocolate

check out the high and mighty though.

Just never been particularly fond of plastic fans is all.

Don't care with us because it brings money into the club but is annoying to see people that have almost 0% interest in football go 'Reading were Champions then' a few days after the season ended.

I don't suppose someone that went to a Chris De burgh concert would do.

In fairness, the season we got stuffed at Spurs, 7-2, they had the same thing going on. I remember printed lyrics to songs.

I remember a game in the early 00s where they went through all the songs, before the game or at half time, with a cockney knees up piano tune in the background!!!

Can't blame them.

This is what I mean about inflated growth, exactly what the Liebherr's are NOT trying to do here. Clubs that don't invest a lot into their fan base will always be exposed to lack of support.

Fulham, Wigan, Reading....kind of shows where football has been going since it became a profitable business (for some anyway).
