Having a replacement doesn't hurt. I'm surprised we don't look at the loan market though. I know loans aren't Cortese's favourite thing, we've not had any since League One except for Jos* (who we then went and signed anyway), but as short term cover, without taking away the opportunities from the up and coming youngsters, it's a 'fix'. Or, signing a talented lower league right back that would be happy just to be in the Premier League, fighting as much as he can to become first choice right back. Looking over his record he looks like he'd be a good option. Think we need a 'clogger' type fullback though, Clyne and Shaw are good defenders but their lack of height and strength can be shown up at times. Just a striker and wide player to go and we are set. That's what I'd choose too. A CB that can play at right back comfortably (have we ever had one? Wayne Thomas perhaps), a striker and an attacking midfielder or winger. I'd actually say we could do without the extra CB/RB, but we definitely do need another attacking option, even if it's only the one and it's not a striker. In the second half they realised Yoshida was uncomfortable at right back and fully exploited that weakness. Virtually every attack came down our right. If we had to use him there for a run of games we'd be in trouble, its one thing to fill in there for 10 minutes at the end of a game quite another to be used three regularly.
