Cardiff City...and we thought Skates FC was a basket case!

They had it coming for becoming increasingly obsessed with the dream of the PL. It was what brought that nutcase of an owner to the club, effectively changing their identity in order to attract to people who honestly don't care about PL ne'er do wells. Mind you he does sound as pragmatic as you'd expect a successful businessman to be, so as soon as he checks the next annual report he'll pull the plug.

Swansea are the real deal in Wales. Cardiff had their shot but I fear they let it become more important than the club itself. Does it even feel that special for them?

They've spent 33 million on top of whatever it cost them to exit the NPC and have got 8 points to show for it. I can understand the head of recruitment getting sacked.

Of course, we sacked our head of recruitment a year ago when we, as a newly-promoted team, spent around the same amount and had half the points to show for it...

But our problem was more specific, we didn't acquire a PL level keeper until it was far too late, that problem was eventually corrected and the perpetrator of the anomaly was eventually sacked anyway.

But we didn't force him out on gardening leave and put a completely inexperienced 23 year old in his place because we're mates with his dad.

Usually extended to immediate entourage though and this bloke is a big mate of his son's. So nepotism is quite apt I think.

When incorrectly used.

Back to the point though, Hahahahahahahahahahahaha Cardiff City. I've been waiting for this since Tan took over, they are the prostitutes of senior football, will do anything for the money.

As a Newportonian, not much gives me greater pleasure than watching them fail.

Ramirez, Yoshida, Mayuka, Forren. £20m worth of players spent in the last 3 windows who can't get at the moment or never got a sniff of first team football. We've badly covered ourselves in glory in the transfer market.

Yoshida is a rightful member of the first team and Mayuka is getting there I think.

Agree on the other 2.

I'm sure not even those that like to be contrary for the sake of it would dispute Forren was not a good buy

Ramirez still wasn't a bad purchase - probably won't get back what we paid but close and it pleased fans, statement if intent etc and I still rate him though we overpaid.

Mayuka getting there? Based on what?

I'll give you Yoshida, to be fair he was actually a decent signing for the fee so not really sure why I put him in!!

http://metro.co.uk/2013/12/29/vincent-tan-tells-cardiff-city-to-sign-players-with-number-eight-in-their-birth-date-4244721/

Cardiff City owner Vincent Tan has already established himself as one of the more colourful foreign owners in English football.

But Tan’s strange habits go a lot further than changing the club’s colours and then deciding to hate the manager – after his bizarre transfer plans were revealed.

According to reports, Tan has informed Cardiff’s board that he prefers them to buy players with the number eight in their birth date.

So for example, any player born on January 8th 1988 would be right in there with Tan, who is planning on splashing the cash on new signings in the new year.

Eight is a respected number in Malaysia, and Tan in particular has a keen likening to it, with the news coming as no surprise to those who know the Cardiff supremo closely.

Madness.
