Harry Faz Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Last summer they told me that if I didn't leave I wouldn't be playing. And then at one point they moved me from the reserves to the first team. "I have played in 17 games in a row. I don't know what kind of role is that. "Suddenly they wanted me to play, so I have been playing. Its no real suprise is it, doesnt seem that we have done much to get Rudi to buy into our 'experiment'. poor management again ! John B Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 why are we treated the older more experienced players with a total lack of respect..? I would have thought that as the club were in financial difficulty because of paying large wages to a number of players they would have explained the situation to the players involved. If we had been able to sell Skacel Rasiak and SAGA we would have been in a better situation. Why side with overpaid players who did not perform us after the play offs. Arizona Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 maybe it was one of those 3 years plus an option of another 1 sort of deal? Pretty sure it would have said that if it was the case. I think Sky have just got their dates wrong. Can't blame any of our pros from wanting out I guess. Makes you wonder who will be around come September though. BWP, Davis, Euell, Killer, Perry and John all out of contract. Rasiak likely to be sold, ditto Saga and Skacel. Wotton wants out. I think that leaves Wayne Thomas then, er 24 year old Gillett? as our most senior player. If I was one of our senior players, I'd want out too. It seems the club are doing anything possible to discredit them. All the rumours and stories pre-season about players like Skacel and John not wanting to be here. I'd go whilst I still have a little dignity.
Wildgoose Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Really disheartening, it feels like the club is totally clueless. Big Ron fan Posted 6 January, 2009 Author Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Shame, would like him to stay. Understand the club wanting or needing to sell such players, but not saying go or don't play. Have to utilise such players while they're here as every point counts. As many of us said early in the season.

spyinthesky Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Most of us welcomed Rudi's transfer to the club from Hearts. In my view he has never justified the £1.7m or so we are reported to have paid for him. That said he has been one of our better performers this year altho he would have been of far greater value left side of midfield rather than at LB. However both he and Lloyd James have suffered by lack of support from those playing in front of him. On Sunday Rudi was, justifiably, having a go at the bench about lack of cover down his side in the 2nd half. The Manager just shrugged his shoulders!!!!! Yate Saint Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Can't blame him because he is 100% correct. Greenridge Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 Not a great advert for the Club for other players considering coming here. I hate all the 'ITK' stuff so didn't post it at the time but Rudi played golf at Stoneham with a good friend of mine and he told him that RL had categorically told him if he didn't leave he wouldn't play. Ironically he was recalled a week or so after this so I would have looked a plonker if I had posted it but this seems to reinforce that message although of course Rudi is the source in both cases. Harry Faz Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 This is what i dont get. Yes we have to rely on a number of youngsters - as financially we have no option, but why arent we bringing in /utilising properley the experience that weve already got and we need to give us a chance. Kids on their own just arent going to do it, they need some experience with them. So by paying Rudi ,and at the same time treating him as an unwanted goods, we are just shooting ourselves in the foot. Why isnt Jan looking to Rudi as an experienced pro , to help bring on the youngsters - thus getting more value out of him?

Ditto. I was interested to see how Lowe's experiment panned out, but it's clear by now that it's just not working. Stories like this, and we know this is true as we all saw that Rudi was dropped at the start of the season, just seem inexcusable. I feel that we are continuing to pursue the experiment just for the sake of it, to the detriment of our club.

I still fail to believe all of jans signings (how many now 8?) cost less then 1 of those players. Let's all keep them and go into administration then? Of course the club should be doing everything they possibly can to get rid of them, rather than that alternative. Let's go out and find some cheap experienced pro's to go along with the youth players then. But they are as thick on the ground as hens teeth, even then we would get outbid by a League 1 side. Very easy to come up with a cure outside of reality, maybe if you had complained a bit more when we were ****ing all this against the wall, it would have made some difference. Mowgli Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 I like rudi. He's playing well this season. Theres no doubt hes been mis managed - hes playing left back and he used to play pretty much upfront for hearts! BUT This is one side of a story. He was in the reserves while he wanted to go to ipswich but they didnt offer him the money he wanted. We were stuck with him and probably thought might as well play him if we're paying him. Fully expect him to go in Jan. He was bought by Rangers as a left back and played by Burley out of position - but it worked so he stayed there. GB tried to recreate that here but Rudi failed to deliver (just shows scottish football struggles to match even CCC football south of the obrder imho. I think he was badly treated here after GB left (and just before) so I cannot blame him for wanting out but how he has held his place these last few games is beyond me! saint1977 Posted 6 January, 2009 Share Posted 6 January, 2009 I believe this story and have heard similar which sort of negates Jan's claim that he picks the team 100%. Bit wary of opening this particular can of worms but it does show that Rupert is totally unsuited to any sort of people management role. JP and Wotte should have been the people having the conversations with Rudi, if Lowe doesn't trust them to do it he shouldn't have recruited them in the first place. This is 100% Lowe's mess - Rudi is quite right to speak out and I urge the remaning senior players if they care about SFC's survival to do so as well and really finish off Rupert once and for all. As for Wilde - if you do happen to read this you are a disgrace for bringing this man back into our club.
