BILIC HOPES 'GENEROUS' CHAIRMAN WILL LAND 'A GOOD ONE'

West Ham boss Slaven Bilic says the club are looking to land "a good one" before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

"Lanzini, Payet should be back Thursday or Sunday, we are alright for creation in midfield, with Andre Ayew it’s long term and hopefully he will be back December 1," said Bilic after West Ham beat Bournemouth 1-0 on Super Sunday.

"Are we going to be very active? We are going to try to get one, I think the chairman is going to be very generous and he will get one if we find the proper one, it’s very hard now.

"There is no club in Europe that has been linked with more players than West Ham and most of them are not true. I am going to speak with the chairman and director of recruitment on Monday and if we get one, it’s got to be a good one."

STOKE HAVE JONES HOPES

Stoke assistant manager Mark Bowen claims the club are hopeful of signing defender Phil Jones from Manchester United in the next week.

United boss Jose Mourinho appears to be going with Eric Bailly and Daley Blind as his centre-back pairing, and with Chris Smalling also in the mix, Jones may be tempted to move on for regular first-team football.

Stoke manager Mark Hughes is keen to land the England international, and Bowen has confirmed a deal could materialise.

"I don't know what's gone wrong, but he's gone from even a player Fergie [Alex Ferguson] was talking about as being someone who could have been one of the greats. But we have a bit of reputation for bringing players like that into this set-up and then thriving. Fingers crossed, something may happen."

Bolasie is over rated. Too much hype, not a lot of end product. He seemed to come to prominence after making a fool of Lovren in a game a couple of seasons ago now. May be exciting at times, but way more inconsistent than Mane. 13 assists and 10 goals over 3 seasons for Palace. Mane 21 goals and 9 assists, despite going missing for 5 months last season.Very poor at Bristol City too. Would rather go for Burke, have watched him a couple of times, looks very dangerous, albeit in a lower league. Just the sort of player we can develop (and then sell to Liverpool.

Do they really need ANOTHER attacking midfielder? Bearing in mind we have what....1 in Tadic and possibly another in Davis....

They have:

Ayew (ok yes injured)

Feghouli

Payet

Antonio

Lanzini

Valencia

Tore

They brand themselves "The Academy of Football" - but when was the last time they brought through a player from their youth side....Noble/Tomkins are the only two I can think of and they must have made their debuts 10 years ago....! Reece Oxford is the only one they have right now but he doesnt get the chance to play.

ARSENAL 'TO BEAT EVERTON TO PEREZ'

Sky sources understand Arsenal look set to beat Everton to the signature of Deportivo striker Lucas Perez.

Ronald Koeman's side were close to landing the 27-year-old having triggered his release clause, which we understand is around £17m.

Arsenal's negotiations are thought to be at an early stage, but the chance to play Champions League football is likely to prove the deciding factor.

Perez scored 17 La Liga goals last season.

Think it's good for spurs. Assume he has a release clause? 15m isn't so much, poch will improve him, they need more pace and width. Good extra option.

Feel for palace fans though. Sign a good striker and lose both your wingers! Think they'll be weaker overall now

Yeah, it's ironic they sign Benteke & then sell off the supply :)
