Such suspension has only been done 4 times previously; during the Civil War, on Hawaii in 1941 following Pearl Harbour, in the Philippines in 1905 during protests against US occupation, and post civil war during actions against the KKK.

badgerx16 Posted May 13 Posted May 13 (edited) The Consumer Product Safety Commission doez what it says on the tin, it monitors and reports on the safety of consumer products in the United States, and can issue product recalls and safety notices. The Commission is headed by 5 Commissioners, who are appointed for a fixed term by the Senate. The three Commissioners appointed during the Democrats' control of Congress have been told via email from the White House that their contracts have been terminated with immediate effect, despite the President and his Cabinet not having any legal authority to do this. Just another strand of Project2025's agenda to politicise all public sector appointments. Naturally, the three "sacked" Commissioners are making a legal challenge, and in the meantime will continue to work as well as they can despite being denied access to their offices.. Representative Eric Swalwell told her "I have a seven year old, a six year old, and a three year old. I have a bullshit detector".
