Another Venezuelan oil tanker seized. https://news.sky.com/story/us-seize-another-tanker-off-coast-of-venezuela-13486172

All sorts wrong with this. It seems that Venezuela's choice is accept it's tankers will be seizes so stop exporting, or respond in some way and see themselves attacked.

The pretext that the oil cash is used (presumably by the oil exporters) to fund drug exports (narco terrorism FFS) is as stupid as anything Trump has said.

Donnie claims that over 250 thousand American lives have already been saved due to the sinking of the "drug boats". How much of the supply entering the country has been interdicted, given that the official number of US deaths from drug overdose is 82500 this year.

Donnie has also said that he has reduces the cost of medical products in the USA by up to 600%.
I question the ability of maths teachers at the Whartons Business School where, apparently, he was an outstanding student!!

I saw a US news interview with a high-up from the Department of Commerce, and he went through the mental gymnastics of explaining this; The price has been reduced to a point where it would have to be INCREASED by 600% to get back to where it had been before the price cut.

Although, in reality what is happening is that the 9 largest drug manufacturers in the US have agreed to reduce the prices they charge, mostly to MedicAid, by up to 70%, thereby matching the prices they charge international customers - and to avoid proposed punitive tariffs being charged against them.

Would it not have been easier for people to understand if they had simply announced that prices were being reduced by 2/3rds.

You have to credit the Trump administration with curtailing what appears to have been a massive rip-off perpetrated against the US healthcare industry.

Scaramucci said even when they told Trump something and the figure was 85% he deliberately changed it to 96% in a speech. When they asked him why he changed the number to 96 he said it sounded better. Staggering how many want to trust this nutter.

You would think that even Americans are bright enough to notice that Trump's assertion thst petrol prices have dropped below $2 a gallon is bogus as they drive past the forecourts of petrol stations.

Trump has appointed a "special envoy" to Greenland, who says he will be working towards making Greenland part of the US. Greenland has effectively told him to eff off, and to respect their right to self determination.

What would be funny would be for Greenlanders to vote to join Canada should Denmark step back.

Especially as I paid over 4 dollars a gallon  in October in Oregon.

CBS News, now owned by Paramount and therefore David Ellison - son of billionaire Trump donor Larry, has pulled a news item detailing brutality and torture at a detention centre in El Salvador to which the US is deporting people.

Trump listed as a passenger at least eight times on Epstein’s private jet on the latest releases. The walls in the MAGA have huge visible cracks. Thomas Massie now joining in with the Democrats calling for Pam Bondi to resign.

Trump unveils plans for 'Golden Fleet' battleships named after himself

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c2084nq2npjo

Somehow, I don't think names like USS Wotsit or USS Mushroom Dick are really going to strike fear into the hearts of other global leaders.

Naming a fleet of warships with a synonym for fart.

I just want this plan to follow the Constellation class, finally cancelled after delays in construction and massive cost overruns. There are very good readons why nobody has built a "battleship" since the 1940s.

The orange twat's ego and narcissism really have no limits.

Seems like the DoJ has displayed the level of competence one would expect under a Trump regime and released documents that can be "unredacted".

It is also claimed that the 8th tranche of the files had to be released early as the 'secure' IT system permitted access ahead of schedule simply by going to the webpage of the 7th tranche and altering the number 7 in the URL to a number 8.

Seems to be true. Morons.

In 2024, Donald Trump tweeted that he had never been on Epstein's private plane.

The latest documents state he was on it several times.

The Supreme Court has ruled that the National Guard cannot be deployed to Chicago.

Following this decision, Trump is removing the National Guard from the cities where they have been deployed, except Washington DC, which is governed federally.

Donnie ready to intervene in Iran but continues to steer clear of confronting Putin.

He can't confront the bloke for invading a sovereign country, and then do what he wants in Venezuela, Iran, Panama, Greenland.

We'll get loads of human rights, rigged elections, free the people, narco terrorist, etc, bollox from Trump and people will swallow it.

Disgraceful humans won't stop other disgraceful humans.

This is what happens when you give a child and a drunk the keys to the weapons locker.

The weapons just allow him to enforce his feet stamping. Very concerning development. What's next? Soften up Iran a bit more? Take control of the Panama Canal to move "their" Venezuelan oil?

The US claims to have captured Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife.

I predict that this can only end well.

Could this be Trump trying to one up Putin by any chance? (NOW THATS A SPECIAL MILITARY OPERATION MURHFUCKA!!!)

Mental. Presumably this is part of their strategy to take over the Americas and Greenland, and let China and Russia worry about the rest of the world.

He brings all the psychophants to the yard. Cue western leaders calling for restraint, whilst seeking to suggest that the world is a safer/better place without Maduro.

This is the Middle East play. US doesn't have the rare earth material, which China currently dominates. If Saudi has enough to keep the US demand mostly satisfied then it helps further disengagement with China.

All the politicians, millionaire liberal "luvvies", middle class European sheep and most of the rest, were wrong about Trump. I liked him when I first read "Art of the Deal" back in 1987. Anyone that rubs politicians up the wrong way and is well on the way to achieving world peace, fair treatment for American workers and jobs for minorities is OK by me.

It just shows what a successful businessman can do, compared to a career politician.

I look forward to the Nobel Prize presentation...

How's all that working out?

Trump and Putin have been close friends for a very long time.

With this latest development you can see the imperialist simularities in modus operandi.

As for Venezuela, it's potentially an imminent humanitarian catastrophe. The old delusion that as soon as you remove the 'bad guy' everyone else will join hand in hand in unity. If only.

One of the biggest problems with this, is the complete vacation of any moral highground "the West" could claim in the eyes of the world.

China invades Taiwan? Trump did it.

Putin threatens other counties... Trump threatens Greenland.

This slimy sack of shit is making the world extremely dangerous.

I think Europe and UK need to overtly distance themselves from this, whilst massively boosting defence capability as soon as possible.

Given the USA have been in the game of regime change for decades, bit much to pin the worlds issues on Trump

They've never done it in recent decades without at least a pretence of legality.

UN resolutions, congressional approval etc...

This is supposedly the bastion of democracy, collapsing visibly before our eyes to satisfy the greed of a few disgusting people. Trump's approach to politics has big second order effects, not least the terminal decline of the UK if we end up with a Reform government.
