A good quality tin opener.

Had my old one for about 20 years. Struggled opening every can I've ever needed to open. Finally bit the bullet the other day and bought a new one. BOOM! Was in a tin of chickpeas in matter of seconds with a clean removal this evening.

Aren't they all the same size?

Staying in Athens and ticking off a bucket list item - visiting the Acropolis / Parthenon and standing in awe of these incredible structures that have stood for thousands of years.

Splendid. I love Athens. Did it once by hiring a cabbie almost as old as the structures and taken everywhere, including a lap of the original Olympic stadium against my youngest (which was closed, but said old boy managed to get us in).

Enjoy.

We have several Clematis plants around our gardens, this one, growing up an old pear tree, is the biggest and first to flower each spring....

Watching someone run for a train or bus…. and miss it

When you’re on a plane and you hear “cabin crew that’s boarding complete” and you have an empty seat or two next to you

In place of showing EuroVision, which Ireland are boycotting over Israel's participation, RTE will be broadcasting the Euro-song Fever episode of Father Ted.

Very nice.

Of course, you could have just taken some wood out to the garden and set fire to it, also for that traditional Viking feel. 🙂

Ireland showing their true colours showcasing this type of character.

A reminder of Ireland's entry, my favourite Eurovision song.

Idiots on TV game shows making absolute tits of themselves.

From last night's episode of Pointless:

Question "Give us a word of 6 letters or fewer that begins and ends with T"

Contestant's answer - "Toggle" 🤦‍♀️

Keeping it nature related, seeing the bees and butterflies loving the lavender and wildflowers that I planted honestly fills me with joy.

I was doing quick bit of painting, and turned to see a gull, 2 magpies, a wood pigeon and a few town pigeons waiting for a snack. I turned, because the cat had mewed at the squirrel feeding from the squirrel feeder.

A happy wildlife moment. I don't talk to the animals, so much as bribe them with food to avoid being attacked. 🙂

For a moment there I thought it was the start of a joke 😒

That would have been a wood pigeon, a magpie and a squirrel walk into a bar.

They're all knocked unconscious, trying to walk straight through the glass in the door.

Watching the two young greater spotted woodpeckers fighting over the peanut feeder. Like squabbling children (which they are!)

Funny that you found a bit of wood, that if you look closely, looks sort of like a dog. Anyway, what are you going to use the scroll saw to turn it into? 🙂

Looks lovely.
