Things to do or watch when self-isolating

Anything featuring Liziqi on You Tube. It helps to ease the pain of self-isolation caused by the Chinese, watching how lovely a simple life can be in their remote countryside. Her videos have made her a fortune, but well deserved. She is just so multi-talented, and being beautiful too doesn't hurt either.

Anyone watching the Murdoch doc?  Having recently watched Succesion it’s so obviously a parallel although shit scandal in the fiction compared to scumbag journalists making Milly Dowler’s  mum think her daughter may have been alive. Words fail me for the despicably evil culture that existed at News of the World.

Respect for Max Mosley too the old pervert

I've been watching it. Familiar with a lot of the stories already but still fascinating and frightening.

James Murdoch is absolutely pathetic and a great example of nepotism gone wrong.

They've not really gone into Elizabeth that much, who walked away and carved out a successful business herself - not exactly a self-starter but at least not the fuck-up daddy's boys like his sons.

Been working my way through Prison Break.

The plot has more holes than a Swiss cheese but I have to keep watching to see how they escape from the next impossible situation.

When I want to remember things I find it best to get it tattooed on my arse

Stumbled across a decent series on Prime called Black Sails. It’s a pirate thing, prequel to Treasure Island. Lots of birds struggling to keep their breasts in their dresses, lots of violence & gore, and plenty of chick on chick action. Pretty decent story line so far, the only downside is Long John Silver is too much of a pretty boy, and it’s obsession with birds being strong characters . Beautiful scenery as well.

It seems that there is going to be an historical costume drama coming soon on Channel Five as part of the Black Lives Matter/cultural diversity season. The lead character, in a three part series, Ann Boleyn, is going to be played by a black actress. Why not go the whole hog and have Henry VIII as a black king too? I haven't heard anything about the other cast characters, but I'm sure that there will be plenty of scope to introduce lesbians or homosexuals into her family or among the courtiers. In order not to confuse the yoof in their future history exams, I'm expecting that before every episode there will be a disclaimer explaining that Queen Ann Boleyn was actually white. I won't be watching though unless there is a pre-broadcast warning that the programme contains lots of explicit sexual content.

TBF I've just finished watching the Martin Luther King Biopic staring Vinnie Jones and it was a cracking watch.

LOL. That almost sounds as ludicrous as the black Ann Boleyn thing, but of course this kind of diversity virtue signalling is a one way street and it would never be tolerated for black historical figures to be played by white actors. The days of whites blacking up are long gone. Will this black actress playing Ann Boleyn be "whiting up" I wonder?

They claim that her skin colour is irrelevant as the series is investigating Anne Boleyn's psychological make up. Presumably any baby representing the future Queen Elizabeth will have a similar skin tone.

If there is to be zero historical accuracy in the programme because that is irrelevant, then they might as well skip the costume authenticity too and have her dressed in a leopard print leotard just for added interest.  A bit of lesbian action with her courtiers wouldn't go amiss too. But if the producers of this programme aren't that bothered about historical accuracy, then why would anybody take them seriously when it comes to their speculation about her psychological make up?

The subject matter is far better suited to be presented by an eminent historian specialising in the Tudors, somebody of the calibre of Mary Beard, but that wouldn't suit their loony leftie black lives matter agenda.

I'd never heard of it, so had to Google it. The chances are that until you mentioned it, I was never likely to come across it, but then would never watch it anyway. I don't care whether the Americans wish to rewrite their history, that's up to them. It is a musical and the context is totally different from the Ann Boleyn thing, which is just a case of deliberate mischief by the leftie virtue signalling woke brigade.

Queen’s Gambit.  Netflix drama about a chess prodigy.  Only one episode in but good so far...

edit - watched the whole thing now.  Really clever to make such a simple story so entertaining.  One of the best things I've seen this year.  The lead girl reminds me of Amelie which I don't think is an accident.

I’m no fan of the BBC, but credit where it’s due . BT gave me a free 6 month trial of Brit Box and a week into it, it’s looks superb. Don’t know how much is itv/bbc but I’ve watched some episodes of Frost, Long good Friday & some of “ Our friends in the north” already. Whether the novelty will wear off I don’t know, but looks excellent value and I’ll defo be coughing up in 6 months time. Decent BBC service paid for by subscription, there’s an idea.

BritBox is 90% owned by ITV.

Let me know what you think. I forget he had the chance to go to Madrid when he was at his height but loved Rome so much he stayed for life. Sad how it all ended for him though.
Make sure it’s not the other thing currently on through, a drama series with actors playing everyone, think it’s just called Totti. It’s utter shite!

I will do that (as I am on vacation may take some time till I watch it). But sounds promising and thanks for the information.

that is true but I guess it was also a little bit his own fault. I also love the story with his mother who actually was a Lazio fan.

Inside the President’s War Room. Fascinating and still gets hairs up on my back of the neck showing response and footage on 9/11.

Remember the missus calling me at work and us then all crowding round the desk that had the internet.

Talking of crap TV, a small snippet of Judge Judy;

The Judge - "And when did you suspect that your husband was deceiving you ?"

Plaintiff - "When he gave me the wrong date for his divorce from his eighth wife''.

What’s that other shit one called where four “celebrities” have to answer part of the question each but in the wrong order? On during the day about 4 o’clock. So, so bad
