Seems harsh to me. I can understand why it should happen in professional football and even in the higher levels of amateur football perhaps, but what difference does it make for those playing park football? We would occasionally come up against “ringers” (higher quality players brought in specifically for certain games) and there was always big gaps between skill and physicality of certain players in the men’s park games. We aren’t talking about many people either, it isn’t like there will be a full team of trans women.

What are women who have transition supposed to do if they love to play football? Join a men’s team?

All 20 women that this affects have been contacted.

Linden Kemkaran of Reform has decided that trans books are to be removed from children’s libraries in Kent. This is a sad day. I was an early pioneer of trans books back in my school days, where my progressive mates and I used to read them regularly. On the outside there was a thick encyclopedia hardcover, and on the inside scantily clad women.

Very concerning 


I notice the women’s team chose not to take the knee, I guess this makes them racist? Why would they refuse to do such a small gesture otherwise? 
 

anyway with Sydney Sweeney stuff racism is back top Of the woke league, after the success of pride month LGBTQ+ slips to third behind assylum seekers, women’s rights has taken a battering thanks to Sweeney and Ukraine is in serious danger of getting relegated.

Thanks for the table update, Turkish. Since The Guardian seems to want to harvest lots of data, before letting me read anything, I've been relying on SOG's post to find out what to be outraged at.

It’s an ever changing table with lots of runners and riders with a frequently changing dynamic. we shouldn’t also underestimate the damage Bonnie Blue has done to women’s rights in the table after such a brilliant rise up the ranks  following the women’s footballer success where  people were told They had a massive problem with women if they weren’t gushing with praise for them (even compliments were accused of sexism but that’s down to Trigger) 

lots at play here and I’m sure we’ll see another change in the table when there is another headline to be furious about sooner rather than later

Yes. Great to see England smashing the USA.

 

It is interesting that within women's sport, be it Rugby, Cricket, or Football, being gay is openly accepted, whilet in the men's equivalent it is very rare, at least in the public perception.

Because there is a much higher percentage of left luggage handlers in women's sport than chutney ferrets in men's sport, I guess?

Dear me, we never hear the end of how stretched the police are but they can send 5 armed officers to an airport to arrest someone for saying nasty things on twitter. It's absolutely bonkers.

Police at airports are routinely armed.

However, 5 officers is a bit OTT. Why could they not just visit him at home ?

Noting the police are operationally independent from government Wes Streeting weny on to say:

“The prime minister and the home secretary have been very clear that when it comes to the safety of our streets and our communities, we would rather see police on the streets rather than policing tweets.

"Now, it's the easiest thing in the world for people to criticise the police, but they are enforcing laws that parliament has passed and asked them to enforce.

"So if we haven't got the balance right as parliament, over successive governments, that is something that we need to look at."

The "priority" for the home secretary is neighbourhood policing, tackling crime, dealing with antisocial behaviour and drug dealing, and ensuring people "feel safe walking down the streets"

Weren't they airport police? I think it would be weird to ask police to move away to a different location outside of the airport so that they can arrest someone with fewer members.
