TijuanaTim Posted 25 January, 2009 Share Posted 25 January, 2009 By a player I've touting for two years on here...fire away with all your flack, but the facts remain that he is eligible due to age-international status and earns about 40 grand (wheich even we could afford) + he is desperate to play in England Can't remember the last player to score a triple against any Sweden team, let alone a deep lying midfielder. I actually went to the game and even without the three goals he completely dominated the whole game. We could still get him but if you believe the strong rumours then he'll be with WGS wearing those ugly green and white hoops pretty soon. Yeah against Sweden...er when was the last time an English played scored three against them? For that matter has one ever..come to think Deano name an English midfield player that has knocked in three against them in three games...it may have happened but probably not. Saint Martini Posted 25 January, 2009 Share Posted 25 January, 2009 You are aware that this match can hardly be described as an "A" international. The Swedes only had players from the Scandinavian leagues and I think the US only had local players too. Nice freekick though. But I'm afraid that he's already out of our league. He's had a trial at Celtic and several Dutch PL clubs want him (Heerenveen & Twente).

Sacha Klejstan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_H-ddMDAsA I find it amazing that all the giant European football clubs that the greatest Swedish players play for (you know, the players that England would normally be up against in an international game) have all agreed to release their Swedish superstars to play an utterly meaningless friendly in a football backwater in a different time zone and not during an international fixtures weekend. Oh. They didn't. When this yank actually does score a single goal against Sweden (real Sweden) let us know then.

You only have to scroll through the different posts to see what i mean, a typical example is this post from T/T, the man makes a valid suggestion & gets put on his ass, not only with his nothing to lose suggestion but his grammar as well ! I just think in these troubled times when i can't remember in my 44 years life time we have been so low as a club we need to stick together, anyway goodluck Tim i know you got the club at heart, i just wish 0ne or two others see that aswell. Son of Bob Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 Wagon you are so right. If you look at my post on this thread; http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=8792 then I think that pretty much sumarizes this forum at the moment. It seems to be a competition to see who can be the most argumentative and nasty on here just for the sheer bloody mindedness of it. It's no wonder there's so much division amongst fans. Sacha Klejstan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t_H-ddMDAsA Thanks for the clip, Tim ..not to take the edge off a nice win, the Swedish line-up was nearly all reserve /young hopefuls ; most of whom are still playing in Swedish sides, (whereas most recognised internationals are in the top Euro teams.) I haven't looked at any stats. but a few may have been debutants, and the rest hardly have 20 caps between them. However, looked like the Yanks played a fast game, (Swedes like the slow midfield build-up) and not to take anything away from the hat-trick hero, as anyone who nets three must be pleased. I've spent the weekend watching FA Cup games on cable TV and have seen a lot more experienced Premiership players miss easier chances than those 3. NOTE; as I understand you have occasional contact with Big Ron, send best wishes to him (from another anonymous 60's fan who also thought he was the best centre forward in Europe at that time ). leon86 Posted 26 January, 2009 Share Posted 26 January, 2009 I have to admit that someone harmlessly suggesting a player who scored a hat-trick (or triple) in an international "b" match could have been met with such negativity! Does anyone remember a certain Saints hero scoring a hat-trick for the England B team??? I think it's a bit strong disregarding someone for their terminology or their colloquial dialect, even if what they are saying is true. I would love to have a player that can score from free kicks!!! AND the fact that someone (can't remember who) said that he has had trials at Celtic and is wanted by two top Dutch teams, might suggest that TT might be right. so the racist pillocks on this sight that know fu(k all about football, but think they know more than someone who lives in a country where football is not the main sport, should maybe take the advice onboard, disagree more respectfully than just disregarding what someone said because they are American or live there!!! TijuanaTim Posted 26 January, 2009 Author Share Posted 26 January, 2009 This kid is a wonderful player, he dominates midfield with class, fantastic technique. He has good size, excellent speed and muppetty hair ;-) I have watched him since he was a teenager (coming from the same town) and at the (LA) Chivas. Claudio Suarez who played 178 times for Mexico and captained them for most of those is Sacha's teammate and rates him as one of the best players he has played with. When I first recommended Klejstan he was a development player earning 12,900 bucks a YEAR!! However we were to busy paying more than that a week for class like Indigo - Rudi and Euell FFS Have sent a detailed dossier of prospects here to Jan - I guess that was liking p!ssing in the wind huh. That same potential and earnings info will be sent to Mark Wotte today. If he throws it away or ignores it...wtf, at least we're trying.

Calm yourself men...!!! TT has been trying to flog us half the MLS since god knows when - I'm still convinced that he is on commission somewhere. I admire his passion for the game and Saints in general, but please don't make comparisons on his efforts against the rest of the forum and then have a pop at us. There are hundreds - nay thousands - of internet message boards covering professional football clubs. Go and see if you can find a thread from a fan that says 'I found our next centre forward...' or words to that effect. Clubs generally have professional scouts working for them in a 'scouting system' - rarely does that mean that they listen to a fan about 1 individual player who has played well in 1 game. I enjoy the banter with TT - but even he will admit he has history of forever flying the Stars and Stripes. I would suggest that if Tim is serious about any of his nominations to play for Saints he passes the details to the club - not to us here on this message board. These are valid points Micky, I have sent detailed dossiers to first Jan and (yesterday) secondly Mark Wotte by mail and courier. These include assessments of (multi-national and US) players, their ages, international experience, the eligiblity and even their current (paltry) salaries. I may not be any pro talent scout, but have coached Wessex league level at home and Coast Soccer League Major Division out here and have some idea about talent. Micky, I can assure you that there is nothing in it for me except seeing our team (note I don't say 'club') succeed to the maximum for the minimum outlay and minimal drama. I care about two things at Southampton FC our team and our long suffering fans, I only want the best for them. Respectfully I ask you to refrain for continued accusations of me having some ulteria motives...ask the hordes on here that know me. Fair play to you mate, who knows perhaps you will be the fan that is able to write that 'I found.....' thread that I alluded to on my last post. I'm still not convinced that the MLS is the sort of league that we should be looking to if I'm honest - too much time and space for my liking, whenever I see it. That said - I did see David Beckham play and score for Milan the other day - so it doesn't appear to have done him too much harm, but he is a case apart. I think we are too lightweight already with our kids - personally, I believe we need experienced CCC players to get us out of this mess, not guys with limited experience from the MLS. TijuanaTim Posted 30 January, 2009 Author Share Posted 30 January, 2009 Well I guess those that may have thought it was a weak Sweden side that Sacha banged in an oustanding international hat-trick against maybe surprised to know that they went in and beat a very strong Sven Mexican side. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XD-lR7RST5U Does this validate it in certains eyes or is it still not worthwhile?
