Eh? What does this have to do with lifeboat operators being willing to assist a boat where the lives of these on board are endangered?

I know a lot of volunteers here in Poole, a lot. Most signed up to help & rescue local people & visitors who get into difficulties, particularly fisherman and other maritime trades vital to the local economy & well being. They did not sign up to escort economic migrants from one safe country to another. It’s the well paid woke bosses people should be criticising, not the poor blood infantry. 
 

That’s the thing with the RNLI there’s a lot of people making a lot of money out of it.  The blokes putting their lives on the line aren’t, but there’s a lot of bloody people who are. The hotel & HQ must be decorated every fucking year, the ordinary suits soliciting donations make good money. They’ve got good PR, people still believe they’re all volunteers shaking buckets outside supermarkets & giving up their spare time for the community. Load of old pony, they’re ruthless bastards constant HO redundancies whilst the top brass pocket more and more cash. I’ve seen it happen in the 35 years I’ve lived here. The chief executive is on nearly 200k, had the pay stayed in line, it would be about 70k now. You lefties moan about private companies, these are just as bad.

There even some RNLI staff that have voiced concerns about it….

Their taskings are given by HM Coastguard.

The RNLI does not decide what incidents it does or does not attend.

And neither should it, or will it. The suggestion that they'd be selective about who they'd help is ridiculous.

I'm staggered that it's even a discussion that the RNLI, or frankly anyone, should or shouldn't help certain people at sea. That they were escorted into our waters by the French is the disgrace, not that they were helped when they got there.
