Penny for Mr. Dias’ thoughts. Very gratifying to see Pep have a meltdown at full time. Hopefully the death of his dull as dishwater way of playing. Awful performance from City again.

And for what ever reason,  not playing Caraces

Delighted for Palace, I know some of their fans who are there today. It’s their 1976 moment. Lovely moment with Dean Henderson there about his father who passed away at the start of the season. Fully deserved. As someone else posted, repeat of last Saturday but with Palace’s extra attacking threat. City did have a go 45-55 minutes actually getting Silvinho attacking and getting crosses in and then reverted back to ponderous Martinball.

Ruben Diaz:- It's not fair. Palace didn't play the way we wanted them to.......

He didn't have his best game. But then, tough to do when you're wearing a nappy and clutching a rattle. 🙂

We made the FA Cup semi final and League Cup final after they both left.

Congrats on missing the point, again.

Fans were all for it too though. I remember the “champions league or nothing” comments on here at the time. A lot of fans were quite happy to fuck off a shot at cup glory to have a shot at finishing 4th. For a club that’s only ever won one trophy in our history absolute bonkers mentality. I bet quite a few Palace fans are saying this is the best moment of their life right now,

Like his team don't dive, whine and try for every advantage, fair or not, that they can.

Really poor from him, despite spending a developing nation’s GDP on players, his turgid style of football has been worked out. No excuses and blaming opposition players.

Happy with this result as I find the Pep/Maresca/Martin style of football, possession at all costs, dull

Subbing on Echeverri for his debut in an FA cup final was borderline disrespectful. He has been found out and they may well keep struggling next season.

So pleased for Palace. I frigging hate city with a vengeance, and Guardiola in particular. In my view he is responsible for so much of what is wrong with modern football.

I'd not be too upset to see them to see them dip further, and then get hit by some sanctions. Fighting above the relegation zone with their Manchester rivals would be fine.

Still possible for the "little" clubs, just need that little bit of luck , a bit of ambition and owners with a bit of footballing nous.

Absolutely!

Palace did really well keeping the likes of Guehi, whereas we would have buckled and sold him the minute he played for England.

Did Guehi demand to leave?

Pretty sure we kept Schneiderlin against his will for a season...

I still can’t get over how dominant City were - right up until Pep said they’d learn from RM.

They started the season looking as unstoppable as ever, then hit rock bottom and haven’t been the same since that draw against us.

Shame I always like Pep always thought he handled himself really well unlike Klopp who I always thought was a massive cock. He’s really let himself down this season now things have got a bit tough. Guess you show you’re true colours in tougher times

Buzzing for palace. Class to see City humbled.

But as others have pointed out, it’s bitter sweet as we should be competing with palace, daring to dream of days like this

Instead we’ve been sodomised by Sports Republic.

Didn't a couple of coaches from each side have a go at each other earlier?

They did. At first they said it was two fitness coaches. I thought it was related to the concussion. And that actually city were making the point that he should have come off.

But they corrected that. Of course, it couldn't be anything altruistic. It was City having a meltdown over the delays.

Thanks to these gimps, we're a long way off anything like this now.

All a bit embarrassing Palace did a job on city, having seen the handball again maybe a little fortune but then it was also a soft penalty. Palace deserved it as they took their chances and city really never really threatened due to some excellent defending

Morgan wasn't the issue, it was the way reed and co got all sweaty over the likes of Shaw, lallana, lovren and co.

Anyone in their right mind would be disgruntled if they watched the team being dismantled for profit but were then prevented from leaving. That board was atrocious.

Congrats to Palace, it’s weird as I couldn’t get behind them as I want us to win something then I will totally support the underdog, childish I know but it frustrates me as saints could of won this more than once the last 30 years had we taken it more seriously. Anyhow al the Man City hangers on , boo hoo … get over it!! You bought enough.
come on saints next season .. just be positive , let’s get a structure in place , let’s do SOMETHING

Very well done Palace, enjoyed that! Basically did what we did to City last week, but with better players and manager. Good to see the FA cup out of the hands of the franchises for a year.
Looking back, our cup win in 1976 genuinely galvanised the city and provided a decade of positive momentum for Saints, probably our greatest decade as a football club. Like some others have said above, clubs like us should always take the domestic cup competitions seriously, or even prioritise - no better catalyst to get above station and annoy the fuck out of the entitled minority and their pet media.

Yep agreed. A complete bellend. It’s quite amusing how the plastic Liverpool fans still make out he’s a hero even though the new bloke has won the league by miles with the same squad Klopp has. He didn’t underachieve he set it up for the next guy 😂

Being a Man Utd academy product - Henderson likely made a quip.

Think it was the medical staff kicking off, so a bit like A&E on a Friday evening.

Pep was already calling out to him from a distance away, he instigated it. Not sure whether Henderson said/did something else during the game or to another player after though.

It reminded me of The Naked Gun, when the umpires started squaring up to each other.

Just comparing the Palace managers reaction at the final whistle, laid back ,hands in his pockets, respectful but obviously delighted compared with mad Nats embarrassing antics on the touchline last night at the final whistle of his playoff semi final.

Fair play Palace. Let’s be honest, we’re all jealous.

I still haven’t forgiven Poch for playing a weakened team in the 5th round up at Sunderland a few years back. We’d have won it that year.

He did save a penalty. The temerity of it.

Pep's just a haute couture Russell Martin.

Apparently when Giardiola had a pop at him at the final whistle, Henderson said “you got your 10 mins”, which riled the Man City manager.

Pep does a lot of that after the final whistle. He often 'has a word' with an opposition player who he thinks should have been shown a card or sent off. Yesterday he had a stop watch, just to make sure he wasn't being denied a nanosecond of play. I don't like that side of him. Unless you were a City fan, I reckon the whole country were behind Palace. I just wish Forest could have been in the final with them and not entitled City. Great to see a different name on the FA Cup. Long may it continue.

Good for him. I wouldn't let Guardiola and his entitled bunch spoil a minute of his celebration.

His team has won six of the last eight PL titles and his ‘failure season’ could well end up with third in the table and a cup final. I don’t care how much money they’ve spent, United have proven how little that matters if you’re badly managed.

Palace were my local team growing up and most of my classmates supported them. They were my Portsmouth as many of them gave me stick for supporting Southampton. Over the years I have willed them failure but was pleased for them yesterday and sent congrats texts to those I am still in contact with. As others have said, it is good to see a “smaller” club win the trophy, it’s what the FA Cup is all about.

I started watching the match at the penalty miss and it had the air of an upset from that point on. Although Henderson should probably not been on the pitch at that point, his save and his, and their defensive performance from then on, was epic. It took me back to 1976 when the final whistle blew and you realise in that moment why you invest so much time and emotion in supporting your club, whoever they are. Before the game I was hoping Palace would lose for all those years of playground taunting. At the final whistle I finally let go of my antipathy. Good luck to Palace and their fans. They deserve their day in the spotlight.

I would love a “failure” like that. Not sure how you can compare  Pep with Martin. Whatever you think about Pep, he is one of the top managers ever. Martin has just one promotion from the Championship to his name.
